Days in Neverland: 47
You know that saying, "Whatever kills you makes you stronger"? I guess that doesn't really apply to diseases, does it? I mean, it makes your immune system stronger, but does it actually make you stronger? I don't think so. It took me a long time to get over this.

Week number two. And now there was no doubt Kasey would pull through.
On the thirteenth day of this horrid disease, Picies reported that her fever had gone down dramatically in the night. Everyone was overjoyed, but not nearly as overjoyed as Pan was. He would visit every single chance he got and had to be forced to leave. Nobody wanted the fever to come back, and body heat could do just that.
There was watching hours put up. All six of them had to take two hours out of their twelve-hour day to watch her just in case she woke up. Pan knew she probably wouldn't so soon, because her body needed time to recover from the terrible disease.
One day went by. Then two. Then three. Then suddenly a week went by. Kasey had gotten color back into her cheeks and now her breathing was normal. It seemed as if she was only sleeping.
Then she disappeared.

Slowly, extremely slowly, the flames had died away and my blood had heated back up. And then I wasn't strapped down to a table any more. In fact I wasn't even on a table. I was in sand. Hot sand, if you must know. It was burning my skin, but I was too tired to move. My limbs seemed to be sleeping. My joints seemed to be jellied. My eye lids refused to lift, no matter how hard I pulled.
I heard a snort. An animal snort. Actually, a horse snort, to be specific. I felt something lick my face and then I heard a nicker. I could just imagine that annoying white unicorn saying, "Get up, you lazy human!" as if it was an insult. I wanted to smile but my muscles wouldn't comply.
I drifted. I drifted far - to where I have no idea, but it was really far. I finally snapped back when I felt my hand brush a plant.
My lids opened a bit, but I kept them shut because it was bright and it hurt my eyes. I waited for a moment and then peeled them open again. I waited for the brightness to dim and then saw fuzzy images. Pockets of green and brown, a bit of white here and there.
I drifted once again. I drifted pretty far, but not as far as the first time. When I snapped back, I felt a hard surface underneath me. Stone. I could tell because it was rough in some areas and smooth in others. Under my head, it was smooth. I heard another nicker, and then clomping. It disappeared quickly. My eyes peeled open, but they met darkness. That is, until a small floating light appeared. It made me squint it was so bright. Then it flitted away. My eyes involuntarily closed and I drifted a little distance before hearing a soft and gentle voice.
"Little one! What've ya done tuh yourself now?!" You've obviously picked up the sarcasm by now. "First ya nearly get mauled by a werewolf, and now the fairies 'er tellin' me ya've just gotten over a terrible disease! Now how do ya keep 'a doin' it, gettin' yourself hurt?" By now she was just rambling. She continued on for a long time about her "misfortunes" and about how "big girls should be able to take care of themselves". Well, it was not my fault I didn't know what was happening.
My eyes slowly peeled open. I saw light coming faintly from a lantern. Then I noticed a lady made of wood sitting beside me, staring out into the darkness. I tried to sit up but her hand on my chest stopped me. "Don't," she commanded, and I obeyed. My eyes closed again, for a long time, and when they opened again, she was gone. My mind was probably just playing tricks.
