Days in Neverland: 31

I had been feeling queasy all morning. I was in no mood to pick favorites. I hated choosing people and picking favorites. Well, except Mikah. Both of us were kind of like Team Captains or something, and I was relieved for that at least. Maybe I should tell you how it all started?

It started when Mikah came up to Pan on the day I was resigned and asked to talk to him in private. He had previously been talking to me about thinking about allies, and I only knew of one. He didn't seem to like it. Then Mikah came clomping in and demanded to speak with him in private. When Pan remained silent, looking between us confusedly, she sighed impatiently and suddenly they were sucking faces. Well, mostly her sucking his face, but he made little movements as well. Instantly, my nausea became much worse. My stomach heaved and I instantly gagged, trying not to puke up my breakfast. I excused myself and barely made it outside before my stomach flipped and bile exploded from my mouth and to the ground. I puked a total of six times and then started to gag. I finally got control of myself and wiped my mouth just as Pan stepped outside. He looked at me, then at the ground where my stomach had emptied itself, then back at me.

"Are you feeling okay?" I just about broke his nose.

I shook my head as I started to walk away. "No, Pan, I feel great. I didn't just throw up all the food in my stomach from the past three days."

He followed me as I went past the fire pit and to the camp's boundary. I stepped over the old line of weapons and trudged through the forest until I found a lake. He was right behind me the whole time. I stood on the bank for a second, and then took my shoes, socks, cloak, belt, and beanie off. My body was on fire and I needed to cool it off.

"What're you doing?" he demanded, trying to be cautious.

"What, you think just because I saw you and Mikah making out, I'm going to kill myself?" I forced a chuckle and shook my head. "I'm going for a swim."

"You'll freeze," he countered, trying to grab my arm, but I yanked it from his grip.

"Then you better hope you're warm enough." And with that, I jumped into the murky brown water.

The cold felt so... relaxing. I wished I could have stayed under the water like that forever, but unfortunately, after about thirty seconds I could see Pan above the water, looking anxious as he looked around for me. I rolled my eyes and let my head break the surface. "This feels amazing," I moaned.

Pan's eyes never left me, the same look in them the entire time. I couldn't tell what it was because it looked very unnatural. The water began to feel a little cold after a while of just floating around, not really able to go anywhere since Pan wouldn't let me. All I got to do was tread, not even able to go underneath for too long. Quite boring. I started to shiver slightly, but just enough for him to notice. He reached his arm out wordlessly and I took it, allowing him to help me out of the icy water. The air was nice against my skin. Not quite chilly, but not quite warm at the same time. It felt good. After drying off for about an hour, I put my socks, shoes, beanie, belt and cloak back on and then started heading back. I noticed Pan's footsteps weren't shadowing mine and I turned to see him staring at the water. Just staring, in a peaceful way.

"Pan?" I asked quietly, not sure what to do.

"Do you remember the party?"

I was a little surprised. He had never talked about the party. Ever. "Yes. I told you it would be a night you'd -"

"Never forget," he finished, smirking sadly. "That song... the first one you played...."

"Lost Boy?"
