34/36 (three more chapters DX )
Time. There was so little of it.
Pan had stopped attacking me after a few hours. Now he was asleep - like I was supposed to be. But I couldn't shut my brain up.
It. Just. Wouldn't. Stop.
If he figures out, you're dead.
Yes, I know that.
You can't tell him.
Yes. I know that as well.
But eventually you have to. When will that be?
I don't know yet.
Well "yet" better happen soon, Princess.
I KNOW, OKAY?! I'M NOT EFFING STUPID!!
I sighed and forced my way out of Pan's arms. I wasn't sure if he was awake, but I didn't really care as I stumbled around inside the tent and put my clothes back on. Just as soon as I finished lacing up my shoes I felt a hand on my arm. I stopped, sighed, and then turned my head to look at him.
"What're you doing?" he asked, his voice heavy from sleep.
"Just going for a walk," I replied simply, placing my hand over his. I kissed his forehead. "Now go back to sleep. You need it."
He pouted, his bottom lip sticking out a mile. "But I'll be all alone."
I smiled a bit and pecked his lip as I gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. "I'll be back soon. I promise." He nodded and smiled a bit before laying back down, and instantly passing out. I chuckled a bit and kissed his cheek before getting my belt and cloak and heading out the door. By the time I got to the edge of the campsite, my cloak was tied and my belt was tight. I pulled my hood up and began to run.
I ran, and ran, and ran. And when I came to the beach I ran straight into the water.
I have to get out I have to get out I have to get out I have to get out I have to get out.
Once the water was deep enough I began to swim. I swam and swam, for what seemed like hours and seconds at the same time. Eventually, though, I had to stop. I flipped over onto my back and let the water hold me up as my chest heaved with barely withheld sobs. "I have... to... get out...," I whispered. "I can't... stay... here."
Then something inside me just clicked. My eyes closed and my sobbing stopped. "I have... to... fight this... I have to put an end to it... I... can't do that... in my world. I don't know... where to go or... what to say...." I summoned every ounce of my strength left in me and started back-peddling to shore.
I finally got back to solid ground and heaved up onto the sand bar. Once I got a good distance from the water, I collapsed into the sand face-first. My chest heaved, but I felt like I was suffocating. What the heck...?
"I thought I could trust you."
Pan?!
"I mean, I expected that someone would try to leave at some point. But never, never once did it even cross my mind that it might be you." Suddenly I was on my back. My vision was getting a bit dark as I looked up at the slowly brightening sky. I felt a hand on my face, stroking my cheek. Pan's hand. "And yet here we are." Suddenly I felt a hand on my chest. No, not on it, in it. It hurt so bad I couldn't scream. I couldn't even cry.
I pushed the fear and the pain and the confusion away and looked into his eyes. "You broke your promise," I spat.
He thought I meant what he was doing right now. I wasn't talking about the fact that he was about to rip my beating heart from my chest, but that wasn't what I meant. I was talking about his stupid plan that would get all of my friends killed.
He chuckled darkly as his hand came out of my chest. I slumped to the ground, my breathing irregular at an unsafe level. I was panting fast and hard, and I ended up choking. I rolled over onto my side, putting my back to him, as I cleared my lungs.
When I finally stopped coughing, I didn't move. I didn't try to look back at him, I didn't try to look at the stars, I didn't close my eyes. I just stared at the microscopic rocks and tried to control my breathing.
"I wasn't trying to leave," I rasped after a long time. I wasn't even sure Pan was still there. "I wasn't trying to swim away."
I heard a pop as Pan crouched down behind me. I could feel his body heat radiating, he was so close. "What were you doing, then?"
"I needed to clear my head. Ever since I got here, the voices... they haven't gone away. As my insomnia gets better, the voices in my head get worse. I needed to get them out. And it worked."
Suddenly I was on my back and staring into Pan's hard, cold eyes. Like emeralds. "You were going to drown yourself." It wasn't a question.
I shook my head slowly. I smiled a little bit and my hand came up to stroke his jaw. "I just went for a really long swim."
His resolve melted a bit and he sighed, burying his head into my wet chest and snuggling up against me. I was a bit taken aback, but I quickly got over my surprise and put my arms around him. "You scared me," he whispered harshly. "Don't ever do it again. Ever."
I began playing with his hair. "I don't plan on it."
He pulled me closer. I chuckled. "Isn't snuggling a wet girl quite uncomfortable?" I shivered a bit. It was quite cold this morning. He shook his head no, but I knew he actually was.
Suddenly I was dryer than dry. I was also really thirsty. He snuggled even farther into me and sighed, his breath soaking through my shirt.
"Come on," I told him, kissing his head and peeling him off me. "I'm tired now. And thirsty. And hungry. And cold. Let's go get some breakfast and then we can do something productive."
He pushed me onto my back and lay on top of me, his chin digging into my shoulder gently, his cheek by my ear. "This should help keep you warm."
"But I'm thirsty. And hungry."
"Just a few more minutes. And you can sleep, too. The sand is quite warm."
I sighed and, despite the fact that my stomach was growling like an animal, let my eyes slip closed. Just before I could fall asleep, though, I felt Pan's lips on my neck. I chuckled. "Really?"
He lifted his head just enough to look into my eyes. "I can't help it." He kissed me softly and then pulled away. "You're just too beautiful. I can't stop myself."
I laughed and my arms slid up to rest around his neck. He smirked evilly and started kissing my jawbone. I shivered and I felt him smirk against my skin. The tips of his fingers went under my shirt and I stopped him. He looked up at me, confused.
"Can't we do that in private?" I whispered, a bit embarrassed. He stood up, making it cold all of a sudden, and suddenly I was in his arms. It made me yelp and hold him tighter. He laughed a bit and suddenly we were in my tent. He set me on my feet and began kissing me at once.
Off came the cloaks and belts. Then we were in bed. Then his shirt, then mine, then his pants, then mine. He was on top of me, our tongues were wrestling, mine won, then I was on top. Our hips were grinding, our lips on fire, his hands gripping my thighs and pressing them to his sides, my hands in his hair.
After a short while he stopped and let me sleep. I was unconscious almost immediately.
I'm sorry I have no excuses :'( forgive me!!!! Anyways, last three chapters are being uploaded!!
