RECAP:
Melanie and Ryan the gardener got talking and Alex tells Mel that the King wishes to talk to her.

After saying goodbye to Ryan I walked up the stairs to see the King.
When Alex opened the door I was shocked.
The King was a sickly pale colour with huge purple bags under his eyes.
His dark brown hair was matted and tangled and patches of it had fallen out.
He looked at me and the once vibrant blue in his eyes was dying.
"Hello my dear." He smiled slightly at me
"Good morning your majesty." I curtseyed.
"I have a lot to tell you."
He waved his hand at Alex and everyone left the room.
Now it was just me and him.
"My dear, I am dying. I do not think I shall live any longer. My wife is not capable of leading this country, she is too weak and too kind. So when I die I have asked that she will renounce and pass the responsibility to Alex. This will of course make you Queen. However I did not realise Alex would react to the news of me dying so badly and I fear that after my death his mourning will not allow him to fulfil his duty as King. I need you to be there to make any important decisions he is not capable of making during his grieving process. You are a smart girl Melanie. I trust you."
"I promise to do my best."
"Thank you." He smiled at me. "You may leave."
I kissed his hand before getting up to go.
Before I left I heard him call me name. I turned around.
"Do not tell Alex. Just tell him we talked about me being ill."
I nodded and continued to leave the room.
Right outside stood both Alex and Marcus. When Alex noticed me he walked up to me and held me by my shoulders.
"What did he say?" He questioned
"He just told me what I already knew from you. He just wanted me to hear it from him."
Alex frowned but let go of me and instead began pacing up and down the corridor. I stood there unsure of what to do or say. Marcus finally looked up.
"You wearing away the floor is not going to help anyone Alex."
"What will help then Marcus, since you seem to think you are all knowing. You have not get everything and you are not perfect."
"I have a awful lot of things you wish you had, and although I am not perfect I think I happen to be pretty close." He turned to face me. "Do you fancy a walk?"
"Certainly." I smiled at him.
"Alex?" He asked.
"No, I have no time for your fun and games."
Marcus shrugged and started walking, I followed him. When we got to one of the many doors leading outside we noticed it was raining.
"What shall we do now?" I asked.
"We will continue our walk, just inside."
I continued to follow him in silence until I began to recognise the corridors we were walking.
Soon we were at the door to his bedroom.
He opened it and pulled me in. He closed the door and pushed me against it.
He started off kissing my neck and moved his way up to my lips.
He bit lightly on my lower lip making me yelp slightly. He began to stand closer pushing me against the doorframe.
His body was so close to mine it made me slightly uncomfortable. I twisted my head to stop his kisses.
"What is it?"
"I can not do this Marcus."
"Do what? You shall have to be more specific." He smirked
"Be with you. I can not be with you anymore. We shall have to just stay as friends, I am a married woman with responsibilities."
"Your marriage to Alex did not stop you last time. In fact your marriage to Alex started all this."
"Please Marcus, I beg of you do not talk of this to me any further."
"Fine, just remember this was your decision. A decision you will soon regret."
He stood back from me and looked at me, He seemed almost angry. I ran my fingers through my hair, tidied my dress and left.
