A Boyf Riends Thanksgiving

The Heeres sat down at their dinner table eating some overcooked pre made turkey and boxed mashed potatoes.

"Hey uh dad?" Jeremy said breaking the awkward silence between them.

"Yeah," Mr Heere responded looking up.

"I've uh I've been meaning to tell you this for a while but I uh. I wanted to do it tonight I guess?"

"Well what is it?"

"I'm uh well I mean. Me and Micheal. We're kinda together. As in we're dating? And we have been for a while and I wanted to tell you but I-"

"Get out." Mr Heeres expression immediately changed. From the laid back guy who almost never wore pants to one that looked almost like a military general.

"What?"

"I said GET OUT!" Suddenly mr Heere grabbed his plate and chucked it at Jeremy's head.

Jeremy took the hint and ran out the door knocking over his chair in the process.

And so in tears he ran to the only safe place he knew. His boyfriend Micheals house.

As soon as he got there he slammed his fists on the door. Within the minute Micheals dad opened the door. "Hello Jeremy," was the only thing he managed to say before Jeremy shoved past him towards the dining room where Micheal and his mom sat eating a big home cooked meal. "Honey who was- oh hello Jeremy. Are you okay dear?"

"JEREMY! BABY WHATS WRONG????" Micheal screamed jumping up and tackling his boyfriend in a hug.

"S-so I told my dad."

"Baby that's great!....oh wait. Not so great huh," Jeremy broke down again into hi
boyfriends shoulder. "Come on. Let's go eat," Micheal whispered into his hair. He led Jeremy towards the table and pulled a chair really close to his for him to sit in. "Mom Jeremy can spend the night with us right?" She nodded and started making a plate for him to eat. And for the first time Jeremy felt truly at home.

To this day Jeremy would always spend his thanksgiving with Micheal and his family. Even after he went to live with his aunt who lived on the other side of the country.
