Evan and Connor had been married for at least six years now and they had never had a proper thanksgiving at home. They had always gone either out or to one of their parents houses.  But no this year was gonna be different Evan was going to be sure of it.

Connor was spending most of the day out with his mom and dad which left Evan home alone until seven.

So Evan set his alarm for six in the morning to start cooking. He always had wanted to make a thanksgiving feast for people to eat and was excited to make it for Connor.

He set to work on the turkey first since it took the longest to cook. It couldn't be that hard right? He saw his mom do it a hundred times so surely he could do it too......he was wrong.....he was so wrong.

Within thirty minutes there was the biggest mess Evan had ever seen. "HOW DID I MANAGE TO GET EGGS ON THE CEILING???" He screamed exasperated. But he was determined and managed to get the turkey cooking within the next hour.

Twelve hours later.

Evan sat in the corner crying.

The kitchen barely looked like a kitchen anymore and he was covered in so much flour he looked like a snowman. The entire house smelled like burnt cookies and despair.

That's when the door opened. "Hey honey I'm home." Conner called out. "What is that smell? Bro did you try and cook?" Connor said coming towards the kitchen. "Oh my god." He said as he walked into the room. "What in fresh hell happened here?" He asked before bursting into laughter "why are you laughing?" Evan asked softly, "I ruined everything." "Aw baby," Connor said, "you didn't ruin anything. Except for that whisk. I don't know how to fix that." He gestured towards a whisk on the ground which was completely bent and distorted from when Evan accidentally stepped on it and fell.

"Do you want to try some of it?" Evan asked gesturing towards the charred turkey and smoking pumpkin pie. "Honey. I love you from the bottom of my heart but....I don't trust your cooking get out of my kitchen." Connor said standing up and helping Evan to his feet.

"So," Connor said holding out the o and leading Evan towards the tv room. "Pizza?" Evan agreed and they ordered a pizza and stayed in all night watching Christmas movies.
