Ollie Garland One Shot pt. 2

“And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.” I read out loud. I’ve been reading a lot lately, mostly trying to keep me distracted. I no longer wanted to check my social sites anymore and I could no longer walk outside either. I know that I am supposed to be so excited for Ollie. I know what was going to happen if his career succeeded so much, but I was slowly losing the fight. I wanted to walk our dog without people asking how I was or who was the person walking into my flat. There were a million rumors out there about us and I tried not to pay attention to any of them because none of them were true.

I needed him. I needed him to come home soon.

I got up from the sofa in search for my phone. Maybe this time he will answer. The last few tries were unsuccessful. He usually called after his shows no matter the time difference, but he hasn’t called or texted at all. I waited and waited for him to pick up the phone, but again he didn’t answer. In all honesty, this felt awful.

I am so ready for him to come home. At that moment the door bell rung. This would be so cliché if he happens to be at my door. Being self-conscious for a moment I made myself presentable. I hardly even tried now. There was no point of going out anyways.

I made way to my door, hoping it was actually him.

It wasn’t him.

Instead there were flowers; beautiful flowers, roses to be exact, a whole bouquet of pink, white and red roses.

I was actually a bit disappointed. I thanked the delivery man anyways and made way to put them on my counter. There was a small note attached; it read: I wish I could give these to you in person. Miss you more than ever. I’ll be home sooner than you think. Yours, Ollie.

The smile on my face could not be any bigger. He was so adorable and he was coming home. He was finally coming home. That was the best news I had received in a very very long time.

“I couldn’t give you those, but I can give you these.”

Chills ran down my spine and tears filled up my eyes. It was his voice; his sweet and amazing voice. I held onto the note tighter and slowly turned around. He stood there cuter than ever. Evident dark circles under his eyes and a snapback covering his untrimmed hair, but he looked better than ever.

“It’s you.” I whispered. The air was not getting to my lungs and my heart beat was faster. I didn’t know what to do. My mind hadn’t processed what was happening at the moment.

“Yeah, baby, it’s me. I came back to you.” He held another bouquet of roses and he made way to give them to me. They were equally as beautiful as the previous bouquet, but they didn’t matter right now. He was here, that is what mattered.

“You’re here. With me.” I hugged him so tightly. I was crying tears of happiness and his familiar coconut and honey shampoo gave me peace.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked.

“I did. The note I sent you.” He pointed to the note that came with the first bouquet.

I laughed and held onto him for a bit longer.

“You have no idea how much I missed you.” I said.

“Well, you have no reason to miss me anymore.”

And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.
