Jordi Whitworth One Shot

There were fifteen intense, head spinning, and stomach flipping rides that I was waiting to try. We had just walked into the greatest day in my life. Some candy floss on my right hand and a drink in my other; I think that this is the definition of perfect. Jordi and I had made a bet: whoever lost in the last futbol match had to take the other on a cliffhanging experience. And since I lost, I decided to take him to the best amusement park in the country.  There was the Intimidator, the Hurler, and the Vortex. Each had people holding their stomachs together once they got off the ride.

“This is going to be awesome!” I yelled. I was literally on my toes.

“I don’t know.” Jordi replied. I’m sure he is scared, but doesn’t want to admit it.

“We can go on the smooth rides first, like bumper cars and I think the trains are open.” I teased him.

“Oh, be quiet and let’s get on with it!” he adjusted his shirt and took a sip of his drink before walking to the best ride of all.

The Vortex.

It stood high over fifty feet high and it went about fifty miles per hour. This was going to be the ride of our lives.

So, we stood there in the longest line ever for the longest time ever waiting for the glory to be to our feet.

“Oh my god.” I said in awe. Maybe even I was a little scared to go on. “If you admit that you’re scared we can call it a day.”

“Oh no. You lost, you have to live through your bet.” He said, but his voice shook a little.

We were next in line when he grabbed my hand. Yup, totally scared.

“Ready?” I asked.

“Yes.” He gulped and we climbed on. I already had my heart and brains mixed and the ride hadn’t even started. My hands and legs were shaking uncontrollably, but I couldn’t back down now.

As I got out of the ride I had no idea where the ground was or how to walk properly. I felt like all my insides were ready to come out. I held onto the side of a wall to hold myself steady. That had been the best and worst ride I had ever been on. It was so thrilling and exciting, but at the same time reckoning and over the edge.

“Promise me we will never get on one of those things again.” Jordi managed to say. I wanted to agree with him I wanted to promise him that we would never get on again. But I also wanted him to suffer a bit longer.

“No, we are going again.” I turned and started walking to the end of the line again.

“Are you mad?” I heard him yell behind me. This was too funny. “We are going to die riding one of those things!”

“Admit that you were scared!” I urged, but continued walking. I heard him stop behind me and wait a little.

“Fine, I was scared. I was scared out of my bloody mind!” he caught up to me, “now come on can we not go again?”

I stopped walking.

“Yes! I was scared out of my mind, too.” I admitted. I waited for his response, but the only thing he did was burst out laughing. After a bit, I joined in, too.

“You are one crazy girl.” He finally said.

“And that’s why you like me.” We turned around and made our way to the drinks again.

“Yes, that is exactly why I like you, Jocelyn.” He grabbed my hand and held it tight in his.

We were crazy together. We would do the things normal couples wouldn’t do. We were the ones that dared each other to get them out of their comfort zone. We were the best for each other. And we planned to keep it that way for the longest time ever.
