"Badge please." Bernie spoke coolly to the gym leader as she recalled her pokemon (the evil butterfly).
"Alright Mr. Bug, you seem to want the badge, so here you go!" Viola replied, handing over the badge in his needles.
She seems like a new gym leader, as she isn't close enough to pokemon to hear them. Bernie thought.
"Well, we got the first badge!" Rachel announced, holding the silver piece in the sky Ash Ketchum style.
"And I evolved into Quilladin!" Hardy added, posing next to her.
Katie just snorted. "For the love of Mew can we leave? I'm getting bug bites!" Katie was scratching her blue fur and flapping her wings to get the bugs off her pelt.
The kid and her cat walked out of the gym, Rachel excited as she walked toward Lumiose City, preparing to meet the man who handles research in this region.
"Man, I can't wait to meet Professor Sycamore!" Rachel told her feline pal as she licked her paw on Rachel's shoulder.
"Meh he seems cool but not cool as Prof-."
"Hello fellow trainers!"
Katie groaned as Hiko and Sky walked towards them both.
"Hey Rach, guess who traded this to me!" Hiko announced, revealing a lizard pokemon with a fire tail, unlike its fellow fire types this one was a gleaming...
"Hiko, stop bragging about getting a shiny!" Rachel moaned when she saw Hiko had a shiny Charmander. "Hiko, don't rub it in! Rachel, would you like to battle?" Sky asked, her fake cat ears pointed to the side.
"Sure!" Rachel replied, her face full of excitement.
"Go Fenn and Funnel!" Sky brought out her female Fennekin and the (female) Bunnelby Tammy knew.
"Go Hardy and Tammy!" Rachel shouted, bringing out Tammy, who smiled at Funnel while Hardy and Fenn had a show-off.
"What the?!" Fenn spouted in shock, "Gopher-boy evolved before me!"

"Well I'm a fire type and you look like a chub-" Fenn didn't get to finish her counter because Hardy sent a full punch to the fox's body, flinging her to the fountain. Funnel followed suit as Tammy dropped her on top of the soaked fire type.
"I'm not winning a fight with you anytime soon, that's for sure," Sky muttered, her eyebrow twitching as she recalled her pokemon. She smiled, happy for the experience despite her loss, and informed Rachel that "the two older kids who Sycamore gave Pokedexes to are in Johto."
"Awww," whined Rachel, as she had hoped to meet the two older kids, who were named... Sino and Dexia? Or was it Sina and Dexio?
The three exchanged farewells as Rachel went into Lumiose City.
