Lily gave a quiet yawn, feeling relaxed since Rachel had let everyone out of their pokeballs for a break, even some of the boxed pokemon.

"Lily, what's up?" Aurora asked, sitting down.

"Didn't you talk to Tiny a while ago?" Lily asked before answering the question.

"I've never met someone so passionate about their goals," Aurora replied, "you seem really aggressive when it comes to Team Flare,"

"Well, I just can't stand villains." Lily mewed, blushing.

"Neither does Tiny, but she's a mini cop. It seems that you, however, are motivated by hate," Aurora added, her eyes peering into Lily's soul, trying to find an answer.

"Well it's a-"

"Hey, gang! What's up!" Bernie buzzed, hovering over the two, Lily gave a groan as she realized what he was about to do.

"So, kitty cat, wanna see who's the cat's meow?" Bernie flirted. Lily responded with a Fire Fang on his wing. Aurora chuckled as Bernie flew away in a flash.

"Wonder what everyone else is chatting about," Lily mused, swishing her dark-tipped tail.

Aurora silently pointed with her eyebrow fins to a familiar scene.

Aura was weaving some flowers together. She then walked up to Shelly, her tails waving excitedly.
"Mama, I made a flower crown for you. Now you're a queen and I'm a princess!" Aura said to her mother. Shelly put on the crown.

"Thank you sweetie, I'll treasure it forever," Shelly replied, patting Aura's curled blue fur.

"Hey, Aura, wanna play tag?" Tiny asked, walking toward the Meowstic. "Mama said I could!"

"Sure, Tiny!" Aura replied. Tammy and Hardy smiled at the cute scene.

"Aura is so adorable!" Hardy chuckled, his arms behind his head, his spikes curled like ears.

"I'd like to have kids like her one day," Tammy replied, sighing dreamily. "Maybe with some handsome fellow." Hardy fell over, his nose bleeding and his face redder than Lily's hair.

"Hey, guys, what is up?" Katie awkwardly asked.

Tammy then replied, "Katie, why are you asking?"

"I'm trying to be friendly since Rachel is worried about me," Katie scoffed, turning the other way.

"The best way to do that is to be comfortable, and do some breathing exercises," Tammy pitched in. "It worked for me and it can work for you." Katie then breathed in and out, her fur fluffing up and her wings spreading out.

"Better, Katie?" Hardy asked, sitting up again. "How's your day then?"

"I'm good, and my day is slow," Katie mumbled, her fur flattening a little.

"Guys, Aura won't leave me alone!" Nina whined. "She's stealing my notes!"

Katie sighed and then walked over to the area.

"Remember what we were talking about? Your motivations for fighting Team Flare?" Aurora reminded Lily, who was watching the scene with amusement.

"Well, it's a long story, and one I'm not proud of," Lily started, her eyes pointedly staring at the sky.

A screech was then heard across the clearing. Everyone turned to see Rachel backed up against a tree, a Houndour cornering her, his smile sending a shiver down everyone's spines.

"You got me fired from Team Flare so I'll fire your trainer! Permanently," the Houndour taunted, his breath growing red with fire.

"Not on my watch!" Aurora ran as fast as she could and pushed Rachel out of the way. The flamethrower went off and Aurora was consumed by the fire. Hot flames licked her fragile form, and she was obscured for a long moment, the Houndour's eyes red as his attack. The flames came to an end, and the sight that was revealed silenced everyone. Aurora's skin was charred, and she was unable to stand. Lily ran over and tried licking Aurora's burns.
