Victoria could guess what Draco meant by the letter, he was going to get the Dark Mark. They were going to make him take the mark, she had to stop them. They couldn't do that to him. He was a good person! Victoria wiped her tears and marched downstairs, ignoring the strange looks from the Weasley's a she grabbed a handful of Floo powder and stepped into the fireplace.
"Diagon Alley!" She shouted and threw the powder onto the floor, she couldn't let them know she was going to Knockturn Alley. They would never trust her again, but she had to save him.
As soon as she landed in the fireplace she took off in a sprint, racing toward Knockturn Alley. Draco had told her about the places they often visited there, the musty places full of dark magic that he so hated. She assumed he would be there, she hoped so badly he would be there.
She took a sharp turn and tripped on a loose brick, a sharp pain shooting through her wrist as she caught herself. She hissed and stumbled to her feet, clumsily running for a few steps before fully gaining her balance back. Ahead of her she saw a head of platinum blonde hair, walking slowly behind a women with dark black messy hair and a woman with black straight hair ahead of him.
Victoria slowed to a walk, trying to think of a way to get Draco's attention. She looked around and saw a pile of small rocks and quickly picked them up and started throwing them at him, careful not to hit anyone around him. As one hit him in the back of the head he whipped around and glared before laying eyes on Victoria, his eyes growing wide with fear as he muttered an excuse to the women and walked towards her.
He quickly grabbed at her arm and pulled her into a small empty alleyway, glaring at her. "What the hell are you doing here?! Throwing rocks of all things?! If you hit one wrong person they would've killed you on the spot!" He scolded, tightening his grip on her wrist.
"Ow Draco I really hurt my wrist can you please let go?" Victoria whimpered, he quickly dropped her wrist but still stared at her expectantly.
"So are you going to tell me why the hell you risked your life to talk to me? I mean me of all the people you could almost fucking die for you choose me? Merlin, your life is worth so much more than me!" Draco ranted, taking a deep breath as he tried to calm himself down.
"Run away with me." Draco's jaw dropped at Victoria's request "Let's just leave. We don't have to go back to Hogwarts or see your parents or You-Know-Who! We can get house on a mountain far away from here and live in peace and you don't have to stay here and suffer and get the Mark. We can just leave Draco. I know this isn't very thought out and we would have some issues but those are so insignificant than the ones we have here. We can leave all of this behind Draco." Victoria didn't know where all of this was coming from, but as she spoke she knew she wanted this.
They could live in peace without having to worry about Voldemort and a war, they could have each other.
"I can't. You know that." Draco said, a pained look on his face.
"Why not? We could leave right now while everyone is looking the other way. We can just go." Victoria pleaded taking Draco's hands into her and holding them tight.
"I can't Victoria! I just can't! There's too much riding on me to do this! They'll hunt me down and torture both of us if I leave now!" Draco whisper yelled at her, trying not to attract attention from the passing by wizards.
"....Do what Draco?"
"I can't tell you! They'll kill me!"
"Do. What. Draco." Victoria demanded, squeezing his hands so tightly she saw him flinch slightly.
"I have to fix this cabinet in this place they called the Room of Requirement. It will let anything into Hogwarts." Draco admitted, not making eye contact with Victoria.
"You can't do that Draco."
"I have to. You don't understand."
"Draco! I understand perfectly fine! You're going to let Death Eaters into Hogwarts! Death Eaters into Hogwarts Draco! No! You can't do that!" Her dream flashed through her mind, the countless bodies, Lucius Malfoy torturing her. Her breathing became shallow as she re-lived the dream once again. "You can't you can't Draco you can't." Her words on the edge of hysteria as she continued to think about it "People will die so many people are going to die Draco! You can't do this you can't you can't Draco you-"
"Victoria calm down! What are you talking about?" Draco rubbed her shoulders at an attempt to calm her.
"You can't do that Draco. You just....you can't." Victoria looked up at her boyfriend, she felt like her entire body was shaking.
"They're going to kill me if I don't do that! Not only me but my family, you if they figure out we're close! I can't let anything happen to you Victoria, I can't. So I have to do this. I have to protect you." Draco said, a mix of determination and fear in his voice.
"Then leave. We can just leave. Please." She was begging him at this point, maybe, just maybe, if he didn't do this one thing Hogwarts would be saved. People wouldn't die. What if Draco caused the war? What would she do?
"Victoria...you have to hear me out-"
"I can hear you loud and clear Draco! I can hear you saying you want to protect me! I can fucking hear you okay? I'm listening! I listened to you! And you can't do this! You fucking can't!" Victoria didn't cuss often, only when she was either angry or stressed. In this situation she was both, her hands shook violently. She was on the verge of yelling at this point.
"Draco? Where are you?" A voice echoed through the dark alley they were in.
"I have to go. I'm so sorry." He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead, lingering there for a minute. "I love you. I'm sorry." With that he was gone, leaving Victoria alone in the alleyway.
"I love you too." She whispered to herself before pulling out a cigarette and lighting it. Before she knew it, the entire box was gone. But her hands still shook.
