*Your POV*

I wasn't sure what those two were talking about, but I had a bad feeling about it. Would it be bad to listen in on them just for a second? If nothing was wrong, I would just leave them alone. However, if something was wrong, perhaps it would be best to intervene.

There would be only one way to get rid of my curiosity. Hoping that I would not regret my decisions, I hid myself near the door and listened, ready to move if something were to happen.

"listen, b-boss. i just wanted to stay here for a bit...it is my day off, so i-i can do that." I heard Sans say. What conversation was just started? Were they arguing?

"SANS, DO NOT SPEAK TO ME LIKE YOU ARE JUSTIFIED!" Papyrus yelled back at him. I could have sworn that our neighbors would have given a noise complaint if he continued yelling like that.

"maybe you should just mind your own business."

"EXCUSE ME? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!" Papyrus sounded mad, even more so than normal. His voice also sounded louder.

"you heard me. you should just mind your own damned business! my life has nothing to do with you right now."

"DID ANYONE ASK FOR YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS MATTER?!"

"s-sorry, boss...i was just-" Sans got cut off.

"THAT IS IT! YOU ARE COMING BACK HOME WITH ME RIGHT NOW! I CAN SEE THAT YOU DON'T DESERVE TO STAY ANYWHERE OUT OF

OUR HOUSE!"

I hesitated, I didn't want Sans to go, but Papyrus was threatening. I didn't want to get involved or else they would know that I was listening. All of my options seemed to have bad outcomes.

"b-but, boss-" Sans's voice snapped me out of my panic.

"NO BUTS! YOU GO BACK HOME RIGHT NOW, I AM GOING TO TELL YOUR 'FRIEND' ABOUT HOW YOU ARE NOT GOING TO STAY HERE TODAY! OR EVER, PERHAPS!"

I rushed back to the couch, making as little noise as possible. If he really was going to come talk to me, I didn't want to be seen listening in on their conversation. Even if it meant missing out on their last parts of their conversation.

Just as I sat down, I heard the footsteps of a very tall skeleton. He walked through the door and I looked at him, pretending not to have heard anything they said.

Papyrus walked over to me and looked directly into my eyes, staring deep into the depths of my soul.

"I KNOW YOU WERE LISTENING TO US." He told me.

"What do you mean?" I asked, trying my hardest to make it seem like I was innocent. Perhaps that only made him even more sure of what I had done.

"DON'T PLAY DUMB WITH ME, HUMAN! YOU AREN'T EXACTLY STEALTHY." He said, sitting down in a different chair.

"Fine, I admit to it. I was listening. And I did not understand exactly what I heard."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!"

"Why don't you want him to do anything without you saying he can? Don't you think that he should have his own space? Don't you love him enough to let him go?"

"AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT LOVE?!" I seemed to have hit a bad topic.

"I know a lot actually."

"A LOT ABOUT FICTIONAL FAIRY TALE LOVE, PERHAPS! THAT'S RIGHT, I KNOW ABOUT YOUR STORIES!"

"How?" I was actually confused and surprised. Monsters haven't been above ground for too long. I didn't think that they could know that much about us already. Especially since I was never a large author.

"I SAW ONE OF YOUR BOOKS AT ONE OF THOSE HUMAN GARAGE SALES AND THEN I LOOKED YOU UP! SURPRISINGLY, I NO MONSTER HAD EVER FOUND YOUR BOOKS IN THE TRASH HUMANS THREW INTO OUR MOUNTAIN." Did he just insult my writing? How dare he.

"Well, that may be because you just don't appreciate how much effort I put into every single one of my books. Perhaps patience and understanding is what you lack in personality. I can see why you seem so hateful." I said, salty about what he had just said to me.

"Now, are you, or aren't you going to tell me what is going on between you and your brother? Because I, honestly, want to stop you both from killing eachother while the other is sleeping. If you can just let me help you, then everything would seem to be better for us all. Do I make myself clear?"

Rage engulfed Papyrus's eyes as he stared at me. I was not going to back down from this.
