Even though it was the middle of summer, the sky was filled with the cold as snow fell to the ground. All I could see for miles was snow that covered the land like a blanket. A blanket that kept out warmth and instead gave a cold feeling. It was peaceful, though. Peaceful and relaxing.

The feeling of cold was strong, though. I could not help but shiver at the frost that was stinging my body. My face was cold enough to were I could barely feel it. Sadly, the numbness started to spread quickly to the rest of me. Hypothermia was the feeling I was experiencing.

I knew I had to get warm and fast. I made my way across the snow with hopes to survive. After a while, my limbs slowly got used to this cold and stopped shivering. My breathing had become fast and dizziness slowly took my mind. Instead of going in a straight path, I made turns without realizing it and I fell very often. This continued for a while until I stumbled into a small cave.

There was no way for me to build a fire, so all I could do was huddle in a corner. That was what I did. As I tried to keep what warmth I had, my breathing became shallow. I didn't really care much anymore. I had shelter. There was nothing else I could do but wait for it all to end.

My hope was depleting, when I heard a voice. "what's wrong, sweetheart?" It was Sans. He was here. Why?

I looked up at him. He was still wearing that jacket and he seemed to be normal. "C-cold...Th-thats all." I told him, trying to show no signs of weakness. "...H-how are you n-n-not cold?"

Sans chuckled and said, "i'm a skeleton, doll. i can't feel cold if i don't have skin that can feel cold." Right, that was how. That made sense.

Sans paused for a moment and seemed to be thinking. Then, he began to take off his jacket. That was surprising for me. All the three times I saw him before, he had never been without his jacket. Even at the park, when the temperature had made most people in the area sweat, he had it on.

I must have looked surprised, too, because he chuckled at me. After his jacket was off, he handed it to me. If I my face was not already red from the cold, I was sure that I would blush.

"Th-thank you..." I said while putting on the jacket with my cold, shaking hands.

The jacket was a little too big for me, but it was warm. It would save me from freezing to death. Did Sans know that? Even though I tried to tell him that I was fine, he probably knew. That could have been why he decided to give me his jacket. He probably would not have given it for any other reason.

"no problem, doll face." Sans chuckled, then sat down next to me. We sat there in silence, thinking. I was thinking about his feelings. There was no way of telling what he was thinking about, though.

After a few moments, Sans suddenly looked at me. I flinched at the quick movement. He must have recognized it as a moment to do something, because barely a second later, I felt a boney hand on my chin.

My response to this was to close my eyes and await pain. That had to be what was happening. Sans went through all of this to hurt me. Of course he did, everyone waited for me to let my guard down and then destroy my hopes and dreams. Sometimes it was violent, other times it was not.

Nothing came, though. There was no pain or words or anything. There was nothing at all. It surprised me. I was expecting it so much. Why didn't he hurt me? Did he want me to open my eyes and see him as he hurt me? I decided to open my eyes.

What I saw when I opened my eyes was surprising to me. Sans had his face only inches from mine. His golden tooth glinted from the light of the cave entrance behind me. I could feel my heartbeat get quicker.
