The phone rang for a second, but soon a voice answered.

"Hello?" The voice was and tired. "I'm sorry, but it's almost time for a meeting. Can you call back in a few hours?"

"Oh," I began. "Is this Ashton?"

"Yeah, I'm Ashton. Do I know you?"

"Well, you might not remember me. This is (Y/N) (L/N). We knew each other as kids. I don't know if you remember or not."

"(Y/N)? I, I think I remember you. We were about ten years old, right?"

"Yes, that's right."

"Well is nice to hear from you again, but I don't understand. Why are you calling me right now?"

"Listen, I need your help."

"Well, as I said, I have a meeting in a few hours, but I can call you back?"

I sighed saying "That's fine. You have my number now, but I came to you because I remembered you from so long ago and I'm not sure I can get anyone else involved."

"Yeah, I think I understand. Alright, well I do have to go. This is a really important meeting. I'm sorry. I'll call you back, I promise. Bye." He hung up without me saying bye back.

I sat down on the couch and sighed, putting my hands to my face. Was this really my best option? I could try to do this myself, even if I didn't know how. Either way, I guess there was no going back from this now. I did already make the phone call.

I began writing my next story. It was about a cat who lived on the streets. All of the hardships of his life and the people that he met would affect the way he lived. Humans would feed him and others would chase him. He liked children the best, they didn't think like the adults. Other cats would fight him for survival, but he didn't hold it against them. He understood how they felt.

As time went by, I got lost in the story. It took me a few moments to realize when my phone was ringing. I looked at it and I saw it was Ashton.

"Mrs. (L/N)?" He said when he picked up the phone. I was shocked by his formality. As a kid, he used to have trouble with talking to adults like that.

"Please, just call me (Y/N). It's not like we didn't know each other growing up."

"Right, (Y/N). Sorry about that. There was something important you wanted to ask about a few hours ago? How can I help with it?"

"Right, well honestly I just came here for advice. Let me explain. I know these brothers who are practically opposite of each other. They have been getting into fights often and I'm really close to one of them. It's got to be affecting their health and I fear that one day something bad can happen. I don't know, I really just wanted help trying to fix all of this."

A moment of silence passed. "I see. I'm not good at this stuff and I can see why you didn't want just anyone dealing with this. Alright, let's start here. I don't know them very well, but you seem to. Honestly, I don't think you can fix everything. I just think that you can make it bearable. I'm not sure how much of this you should be digging into. What I can say is that if you can do anything, stop their arguments. Take their mind off of it. Maybe get them to do more stuff together after calming them down. If anything, listen to both sides and get them both to do that as well. Maybe they can learn something about themselves that way."

"I think I understand. I've got a few ideas in mind for what they can do together. I guess I just have to catch their fights more often when I'm around. I'm just not sure of how to get them to understand each other."

"Well, I don't know them well, but if you care this much, I'm sure you will manage. Listen, I'm not the best person for advice. You should probably find someone else to help with this. I'm just speaking from experience."

"Okay, thank you anyways. You sound tired, I should let you get some rest." I stayed silent for a moment before speaking again. "Really, I mean it, thank you. You changed a lot since we last talked. I hope you are well, though. Don't push yourself hard."

Ashton seemed to laugh a bit on the other side of the phone. "Well, I certainly wasn't expecting that. I don't think you changed much from what I remember. You don't push yourself either. I'll certainly try not to. Well, goodbye. Have a nice night."

"You too. Goodnight." That was our final words before hanging up the phone. I looked at the clock. It was only three in the afternoon. Where in the world did Ashton live for it to be night?

I looked around and thought. If I invited them both out to an event, maybe to a carnival or something, then they could bond. I could stick around them and stop any fighting that might break out. Getting them to understand each other, though? I wanted to just invite them and see if I would think of anything in the spur of the moment, but I didn't think that would work very well.

It was probably better that I plan everything out. however, if I couldn't think of anything. I thought I would probably just see if I could work better under pressure.

What if every fight, I brought out points from both of their sides. That felt like it could work. Sans would probably listen to me. Papyrus on the other hand, I wasn't sure about. He wasn't an idiot. I'm sure he could understand. I was just worried. What if he didn't?

Maybe I should have a backup plan. Maybe if everything went south, I could just sit them down and give them a lecture. I laughed at the thought.

Two fully grown skeletons getting a lecture from a human at this day and age.

If they kept acting immature, maybe it would come down to that. However, hopefully not. I got out my phone and started looking up events happening around the city. If I could get them to bond over anything, it would have to be something that allowed monsters without racism, hopefully. It would also need a lot of stuff for them to do.
