"Idiot." Lindsey muttered, following the tracks Stevie's taker had precariously left behind. His teeth clenched together when he stepped in to a hidden hole, his leg twisting.
Lindsey had managed to find tweezers, pulling the bullets out of his own body and bandaging them with some heavy gauze.
He was now limping through the forest, his gun drawn as the rain poured down on him.
He had to move quickly, fear of the water washing away the tracks quickly taking place.
Coming up to a clearing, he saw a cabin, seeing the same black van from earlier. His heart beat picked up, pounding against his chest as he inched closer.
The lights were on in the front, his eyes scanning for entry ways. He creeped closer, crouching down behind a bush besides the cabin, waiting to make his move.
............"Wake up Angel."
His voice drew her from her sleep, Stevie clenching her eyes shut even tighter. She felt his hand stroke her cheek, unwillingly opening her eyes.
Tears stung her already swollen eyes, her chest heaving. "Please let me go, this isn't right."
He stroked her hair away from her face. "Nothing is wrong when it comes to you angel." He soothed his hand over her face, Stevie recoiling. "Tonight, you're mine."
His lips forced themselves against hers, vile rising in her throat. He left her alone, Stevie hearing the front door slam behind him. She tried tugging at her restraints for the millionth time giving up in tears.
Her heart jumped hearing the window scraping against the wood as it was pushed open, seeing Lindsey crawling in.
"Lindsey!" Tears streamed down her face.
His blood was boiling seeing her tied up and restrained, disrobed as well. He set his feet on the wooden floors, quickly making his way over to her. "Stevie are you hurt?"
She shook her head furiously. "Please just get me out of her."
Lindsey reached for her ties, swearing at the triple knots her taker had done. Pulling a pocket knife out, he flipped the blade out and made quick work of her restraints.
Her arms fell limply above her head, Lindsey helping her sit up. He took off his jacket, wrapping it around her scantily clad body, helping her to her feet.
"You're hurt." Her fingers trailed over the gauze on his shoulder, Lindsey shaking his head.
"It doesn't matter right now, we need to get you out of here." He pulled her towards the window, climbing out first and then helping her through it.
As soon as her feet hit the ground he scooped her up, carrying her bridal style and her arms clung around him. He carried them through the woods and she buried her face in his neck, shielding herself from the rain.
Lindsey constantly glanced over his shoulder, making sure no one was coming. He carried her for a good twenty minutes before making it to the clearing where he had parked his car, fishing the keys out of his pocket and unlocking it.
Setting her down in the passenger seat, he shut the door behind her before rounding the car and getting in the drivers seat. They quickly took off, Stevie sniffling and he turned the heat on.
"We have to go to a hospital."
"We need to get you to safety first."
