Lori eyed the two of them, feeling as if she were in an alternate universe. Her legs were swung over his lap, her arm around his neck as she was turned sideways to face him.

His arm was wrapped around her waist, playing with the ends of her long blonde hair as his other hand made circles up and down her leg. He whispered something in her ear, Stevie giggling and shrugging him off.

"Am I interrupting something?"

Their attention was drawn, Stevie quickly crawling off his lap. "Lori!" She smiled at her sister-in-law. "What are you doing here?"

Lori raised an eyebrow. "I called you an hour ago to let you know I was swinging by."

Stevie's face scrunched up, wracking her thoughts. "I guess you did, didn't you?"

Lori nodded, glancing at Lindsey. "Mhmm, I can leave if now's not a good time."

"Nonsense." Stevie waved her statement off.  "Can I get you anything? Coffee? Tea?"

"No I'm alright. I'll give you two a moment alone."

Stevie rolled her eyes, watching as her sister in law disappeared in to the kitchen. She turned back to Lindsey, giving him a sad smile.

"Why the long face?"

"Our make out session got interrupted." She pouted.

Lindsey threw his head back laughing, squeezing her tight. "We'll pick up where we left off soon, you should go hangout with Lori."

"What are you going to do?" Stevie frowned.

"I have to meet with Michael, he's got a job lined up for me."

Stevie felt her stomach churn, holding him tighter. "Promise me you'll be safe?"

"I always am."

She gave him a sad smile, caressing his face and giving him a small kiss. "You'll call me when you're done?"

"Of course." He returned the kiss, hugging each other goodbye as she walked him to the door. "I love you."

Stevie smiled, kissing his cheek. "I love you too."

Shutting the door behind him, Stevie let out a heavy sigh knowing she'd have to face Lori. Making her way to the kitchen, she was met with questioning eyes, biting down on her lips and heading for the cabinets. Pulling out a mug, she poured herself a cup of coffee, facing her sister in law.

"You're not that much of a cliche?" Lori repeated Stevie's past words to her, Stevie rolling her eyes.

"Why do you always have to be so smug?"

"I'm not going to say anything." Lori sipped on her coffee. "Except for I told you so."

Stevie shook her head, sitting down next to her at the counter. "Get it all out now, you were right."

Lori smiled at her, sipping her coffee. "So? What's going on with you and Mr. body guard?"

"He's technically not my bodyguard anymore."

"Spill."

Stevie sighed, but she couldn't help the tiny smile that formed on her face. "I love him, and he loves me."

"And this has nothing to do with the fact that he saved your life?"

"Why does everybody keep saying that!"

"Stevie-"

"Lori he knows things about me that you don't even know, he understands how my mind works, he doesn't scold me or treat me like a child, he helps me find a solution. I've never been able to connect with someone on the level I have with Lindsey. I love him."

"Calm down Rambo, I wasn't knocking you, I just want you to be happy. Are you?"

"Truthfully? Yes."

"Well good, how is he in bed?"

Stevie rolled her eyes, a blush creeping across her cheeks. "Fine."

"Just fine?" Lori raised an eyebrow.

"Amazing."

"That's all I'm getting?"

"What more do you want?"

"Details!"

Stevie laughed, shaking her head. "Lori!"

"Stevie come on!"

"I'm not lying, he's amazing."

Lori grinned. "Do you cum?"

"Every time."

Lori let out a whistle, nodding her approval. "More."

"What do you even want to know?"

"Is he passionate? Does he just lay there? Come on, I need details!"

"He most definitely does not lay there, he takes control, it's sexy."

"You mean he dominates you?"

Stevie blushed, shaking her head. "I wouldn't go as far to say that he dominates me....he sets the pace."

"You're a lucky woman."

Stevie just nodded, wanting to change the subject. "How's Jess doing?"

She successfully managed to distract Lori from the topic of her own relationship, breathing out a sigh of relief.

..........

She was moving her eyes back and forth between the front door and the television, biting on her thumb nail anxiously. Why wasn't he here yet?

Stevie shook her head at how obsessive she was acting, taking a deep breath. Wandering in to the kitchen, she poured herself a glass of wine, quickly downing it then refilling her glass.

Going back in to the living room she sank back down on the sofa, reaching for her phone. Dialing Lindsey's number, she held it up to her ear, sighing in frustration when he didn't answer. Pulling the phone away she dialed Michael's number, brining the device back up to her ear.

It rang and rang, just about to hang up when she heard his voice.

"Stevie, hey?"

He sounded panicked, Stevie frowning. "Michael are you with Lindsey? I haven't been able to get a hold of him."

She ward a heavy sigh, her heart racing. "Stevie, I can't talk right now."

"Michael!' She protested.

"I'm at the hospital."

Her heart dropped to the pit of her stomach, clutching on to the phone. "Where is Lindsey?"

"He got shot Stevie."
