-Author's Note-
Whoops, here I am again. I'm slightly annoyed because I STILL haven't seen Ragnarok. Anyway, here's another chapter, just for you!
I stare down blankly at the note in my hand. Glancing up, I notice Savannah staring eagerly before blushing and quickly looking away. Why would she leave this for me? It looks like some sort of contact number but I don't have a phone. Is this what (y/n) was trying to ask me earlier? This was what she meant by her number? But that would mean the girl, Savannah, was trying to- Oh. I feel my cheeks heating up as I take another glance towards her. The eager smile on her face confirms my fears and stuffing the napkin into my jacket pocket, I swiftly exit the restaurant. The cool night air is refreshing to take in and I sigh in relief as I hear the gentle click of the door shutting behind me. Tomorrow I'll see her again. I know she'll get my message, she has to.
"(y/n)... What have we gotten ourselves into?" I chuckle to myself, absorbing the synthetic city lights that illuminate the night sky. The quiet rumbling of passing cars pulls me into a walk. I can almost imagine her hand in mine, the warmth of her skin. She'd pull me all through the city, pointing at the strange things that she finds interesting that I've never seen before. Or maybe we'd be flying, with those beautiful wings of hers. The ones they took away from her. What have they done to her? Tony could have easily taken her to Asgard. We could have rebuilt our lives. We'd spend hours in the grand library and laugh at the thought of sleeping. She'd be in love with me again. She will be. Her heart knows who it belongs to, even if she doesn't yet. Thor should be coming to get me in a few days, but I can't leave. (y/n), she's like a drug. I've had a little taste and now I need more. I don't care if being far away is for her safety, it's more dangerous to keep me away. I want to see her right now. I know I can't. She's probably cosy in her home, probably reading because I know that she likes to do that in the evenings.
"Tom?" My thoughts shatter as that beautiful voice fills my head. I stop abruptly and look around. I did not just imagine that. "Tom!" Her voice sounds distant. I look across the street and there she is, standing under a plastic shelter. Before I can fully believe my eyes, my legs have already carried me halfway across the street. I force my arms to stay by their sides as I push back to the urge to wrap them around her and never let go.
"(y/n), what are you doing out so late?" I ask, unable to hold back a smile.
"I could ask you the same thing." She chirps, raising an eyebrow and smirking playfully.
"I went to get shawarma. Look, I'm sorry about earlier." I reply, stuffing my hands into my pockets only to feel the napkin that Savannah gave me.
"It's fine! You really don't need to apologise.Hey, I love shawarma! Haven't had it in ages though..." My heart races. No, it leaps and bounds. It prances around like a young stag, cautious but wild.
"So what are you doing out here?"
"Well, I was at this author's signing thing for a while. I don't exactly have a car so I've been using the bus. As you can see, it has yet to arrive." She sighs, giving me a half smile. "I only recently got the Starbucks job, the pay isn't amazing. But it'll do. I'm sort of a writer."
"Sort of a writer?" I ask, intrigued by the new life of my past lover.
"Well I'm in the midsts of writing a book but it's a slow process and this job isn't giving me much time to add to it... But it's getting there!" A joyful flame dances in (y/n)'s eyes as she speaks, I can tell how passionate she is about this.
"What's it about?"
"Ooo no-one's ever asked me that before. Okay so it may sound a bit weird but a long time ago I was in an accident which put me in a coma for most of my life. I only woke up a few years ago. It was very strange and I'm still wrapping my head around it but that's not the point. The thing is, I had the weirdest dream. It was filled with Norse Gods and fire giants!" My eyes widen, she remembers? She seems to pick up on this. "I know, bizarre right? Anyway, I thought the concept was cool so I started writing a book." She seems very proud of her idea.
"Wow, that's amazing... Which Norse Gods did you dream about?" (y/n) looks up at me, beaming with happiness.
"It was the trickster God, Loki. It's funny Tom, you look a lot like him." I feel lost for words. My chest feels like it wants to explode and implode at the same time. I feel my hands shaking slightly in my pockets.
"Do I?"
"Yes. It's a rather striking resemblance. Obviously, the hair is different and... The eyes. His were an emerald green colour. A screech of breaks pulls (y/n)'s attention from me. "Oh look, the bus has finally arrived! Are you coming?" She glances towards me with a hopeful glint in her eyes.
"Um, no. I live just across the road." I gesture to the tall apartment building in the distance.
"Ah, okay. Well, it was nice talking to you, Tom." She smiles and begins to board the bus.
"Wait, if I come to the cafe tomorrow... Will you tell me more about your dreams?" I ask, desperate to hear how much she remembers. (y/n) begins to giggle.
"Sure. I'll tell you about how I became queen of the frost giants and started a war."
"Sounds intriguing." And then she was gone.
