Chapter 14 - LOKI'D

YA JUST GOT LOKI'D! You thought it was really over, didn't ya? Quite a few of you were left confused, did Loki die? Did he get knocked out? Well, I guess you'll have to get reading!

"He's waking up."

"Are the restraints really necessary?" I recognise that voice. Thor. Did he finally realise that we went to Asgard? Will he finally let me and (y/n) be together? Wait. Where is she? She was just holding my hand. So why does it feel cold? I open my eyes, the room is bright but I quickly adjust. The blurry figures around me come into focus. Thor, Fury and... Tony?  This room, it doesn't look like a room from Asgard. It looks more like... Tony's lab.

"He's tricked us enough times, no more risks."

"What... Where am I? Where's (y/n)?" I ask. I try to move but my arms and legs appear to be bound to a chair.

"Sleeping." Tony sighs, nodding his head to his right. My eyes follow his gaze. Across the room is an electronic screen, it seems like (y/n) is sleeping peacefully in some kind of bed. But where is she? She looks peaceful, just like she did when I was holding her. Then... Fury shot that dart. But the memory cube stopped it, didn't it? Before I can ask what happened, Fury speaks up.

"You refused to cooperate, so we had to subdue you." So the cube... Asgard. It was all a dream. I look at Thor, guilt covers his face like a mask, his eyes refuse to meet mine.

"I don't get what the problem is. She remembers me. She isn't evil anymore. What's wrong with her staying with me on Asgard?" I struggle against the restraints but it's no use.

"Loki, it's more complicated than that. Being with you... It's bad for her. She deserves a normal life." Tony folds his arms and sighs deeply.

"How can her life possibly be normal? She remembers everything. How can she got back to a normal life when she knows all the things she does." I must have an illusion or trick to get out of here.

"What do you expect from a relationship with her? You can't grow old together. You'll outlive her by hundreds of years. Then what?"

"But she isn't just a normal human."

"No, but she's only part Valkyrie. So she'll live longer than a normal human, but you'll still greatly outlive her. When she's an old woman, you'll have barely aged." I can't help but mentally agree with Tony. Thor is still silent. He must be thinking about Jane.

"There must be some kind of magic to slow down her ageing. Odin is powerful."

"I doubt our father will help after all you've done." Thor's words are filled with anger and sorrow. It's like he can't decide whether to hate me or feel bad for me.

"I'm sure he'll understand. If it was Frigga- There must be some way that we can-"

"Could you stop being selfish for once in your life and accept that you can't always have what you want!" My brother's words silence me. What's gotten into him?

"She won't forget again. If you keep her here, she'll keep looking for me. I know (y/n). She's brave... Unstoppable. When she really wants something, nothing can get in her way. She'll cause Ragnarok just to get to me."

"What's Ragna-" Fury begins but Thor cuts him off.

"It's basically the end of the world. But it's most likely never going to happen." 

"Why can't (y/n) come to Asgard? She obviously can't have a normal life here." Tony looks fed up but before he can explain, I speak again. "Who are you to be making choices for her anyway! She's her own person. (y/n) should decide where she wants to be." I look over at the screen again, (y/n) is still asleep.

"You know what? Fine. I've wasted too much time and money on this messed up romance drama. I have more important things to do." Tony attempts to walk away but Fury stops him.

"What do you think you're doing Mr Stark?"

"Just let him talk to the girl. Then they can bugger off this planet. You too Point Break." He gives Thor a glance, who looks mildly shocked. Is this a trick? Tony sounds genuine. Maybe he is just fed up.

"So, I can speak to her?" I feel a hopeful spark in my chest.

"When she wakes up, yes."

"Can you get these restraints off then?"

"Not a chance."
