[Dice and Periscope are sitting in their kitchen. There's a knock on the door.]

Periscope, getting up to answer the door: Oh, that's probably Tab.

[The scene changes to the inside of Pipette's home. Pipette and Periscope are sitting on the floor, looking over several pieces of paper.]

Pipette: Alright, I need to know what you'd be going in for.

Periscope: It's not any of your business. Just tell me the different types of forms and I'll do it myself. All I needed was for you to tell me how to apply.

Pipette: Don't be so touchy about it.

Periscope: Too bad. It isn't any of your business. I just am having a necessary surgical procedure. That's all you need to know about it, and even that is a bit much. Just because we're friends doesn't mean I have to tell you everything about me.

Pipette: Ok, ok.

[There is an uncomfortable break in conversation as Periscope fills out paperwork.]

Periscope: So Dice brought up Bezel the other day.

Pipette: Oh. Yeah?

Periscope: Yeah, do you remember them?

Pipette, clearly avoiding the topic: Sure.

Periscope: But when Dice mentioned them, they were weird about it.

Pipette: Hm.

[Beat.]

Periscope: I see you're being weird about it too.

Pipette: I am not.

Periscope: You definitely are. What's going on?

Pipette, hesitantly, after a sigh: You left early, Peri. Things did happen after you left, you know.

Periscope: What kind of things are you talking about?

Pipette: You don't need to worry about it anymore.

Periscope: What? Tell me, I want to know.

Pipette: You don't need to know.

Periscope: I'd prefer if you just told me or I'll assume the worst. What was it, what, did they move on quick or something?

Pipette: No, Peri, they died, ok? At least, we were pretty sure. We-

Periscope: No.

Pipette: Yes, we went into a skirmish a few weeks after you left and they either got killed in action or taken as a prisoner of war. Either way, we're not supposed to think about it anymore, so don't think about it anymore.

Periscope appears incredibly taken aback and is silent for a brief moment.

Periscope: I don't think I can.

[The scene changes to Dice and a new character, Tab, in Dice and Periscope's kitchen.]

Dice: ... So how have you been?

Tab: Better than I was when I lived closer to you.

Dice: Yeah? I'm sorry about Pipette. They can be brash and immature.

Tab: You're telling me.

Dice: Well, I'm sorry anyways.

[Beat.]

Dice: They have a new roommate, you know.

Tab: Poor soul.

Dice: No, the new guy's a little bit awful.

Tab: Oh, well then that's too bad.

Dice: Yeah, it is.

Tab: Well how have you been?

Dice: Aha.

[There's a brief silence while Dice takes a drink from a mug on the table.]

Dice: Mm... Not bad, but definitely not great.

Tab: What's the problem?

Dice: I'm under house arrest.

Tab: What for?

Dice: What do you think?

Tab: Probably the same thing that they sent you here for.

Dice: Yeah, well they probably should have checked out the area before sending us somewhere supposedly safe.

Tab: That's true. I'm sorry.

Dice: Not that I'm complaining about not being at the front.

Tab: Of course.

Beat.

Tab: I'm sorry that I made this awkward.

Dice: I'm sorry that I-

Dice decides not to finish the sentence, and pauses before taking another sip from their mug. The screen cuts to Periscope and Pipette again.]

Periscope: That's kind of a big thing to just reveal.

Pipette: Don't think about it. We're not allowed to.

Periscope: I have to.

Pipette: You can't. Focus on the files. These are the files for cosmetic surgery, I'm assuming that's not what you want.

Periscope: What general forms do I need?

Pipette, handing Periscope a paper: This. It would really be easier if you just told me what you needed.

[Periscope sighs. The camera cuts to Moe and Aglet sitting together in any one of the rooms of Aglet's house. They're drinking tea. This event goes on silently for about fifteen seconds, and then returns to Periscope and Pipette.]

Pipette: See, that's all I needed to know.

[Pipette shuffles through some papers and eventually picks out the right one, handing it to Periscope.]

Periscope: Thank you.

[Beat.]

Periscope: And, thank you for... you know.

Pipette: Of course. We're-

Periscope: Best friends. I know.

[The screen cuts to Dice and Tab again.]

Dice: ... So, are you seeing anyone?

Tab: No, I'm asocial.

[Beat

Dice: ... Alright then.
