She was hit by a drunk driver? I let the words sink in before letting a few tears escape my eyes. "She's supposed to be in a coma for a long time. They don't know if she will wake up, or when she will wake up." Her mom explained, grabbing Amy's hand.
"I'm sorry." I said. Angie looked at me and gave me a shy smile.
"It's not your fault sweetie." She said. Brandon grabbed my lower back and pulled me into a hug.
"I need to talk to you in private." He whispered in my ear. I turned towards him and nodded. He took me by the hand and led me out the door. Andrea and Alice stood leaning against the wall. The cheerleaders went home, I assume. Alice gave me a shy smile and I returned one, before walking in the opposite direction.
"Wait!" Alice said. I turned around to see she was running towards me. She stopped in front of me and inhaled deeply.
"I'm so sorry for everything." She exhaled. I gave her a smile and she returned one.
"I forgive you." I said. Yes, 1 more friend to go then the clique will be together again!! Brandon grabbed my wrist and tugged me lightly. Alice wiggled her eyebrows and I giggled meeting Brandon's pace.
Brandon found a small bathroom an pushed me into it.
"What are we doing in here?" I asked. Brandon locked the door and walked over to me grabbing my waist. He kissed me roughly then pulled away sobbing.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I asked putting my hands on his cheek.
"I'm so sorry." He said wiping a few tears away.
"For what?"
"Well I know how you wanted to go to Harvard, but I got accepted into Michigan State University and I'm taking it. We'll be thousands of miles apart." He explained. He was going to MSU??? No we were supposed to go to Harvard together. Become lawyers together.
"So what does that mean?" I ask.
"I'm sorry, but it's over." He said and left the bathroom. I just stood there with no emotion. I was numb. The burning sensation to cut was coming on to me, I tried to shake it off a much as I could. Next thing I knew, was I was hugging myself on the ground crying. I thought he loved me, but I guess that was all a lie.
