Alex's Story

Chapter 23

I couldn't do this anymore, I thought as the tears were just coming down unexpectedly. He can't do this to me. He can't keep breaking my heart. This just isn't fair. I'm going to college in a week, he needs to get his crap together or I'm never gonna be there no more. I heard rustling of leaves and looked in the direction of the noise and saw him. Brandon.

I wiped my tears as a sympathetic look was on his face. I stood up and walked the opposite direction away from him. "Alex!" He called running to me. He stood in front of me and stopped me by grabbing my shoulders. more tears escaped my eyes.

"I can't do this anymore." I told him.

"I'm sorry Alex, and I know that it was stupid of me to leave you. I miss you and I love you." He explained dropping his hands from my shoulders.

"I can't do this anymore." I manage to choke out.

"Stop saying that!" He yelled, running his hands through his hair out of frustration.

"Why not? Huh?" I said pushing his chest.

"Because I still love you!" He yelled, then his face softened. "I wanna be with you." He said.

"I'm sorry, but I can't do this anymore. I'm sorry brandon." I said as tears welled up in my eyes. A few tears ran down Brandon's face and honestly, it was the worst thing to watch.

"Okay." Was the last thing he said before turning around and leaving. When he was out of sight, I ran through the forest to my house. I got there in about 30 minutes, and I was completely out of breath. I went into the kitchen and got some water.

"Alex?" My mom called.

"In the kitchen." I yelled. She came in the kitchen and looked at me with her arms crossed. "Why were you out with Christian Moore?" She asked sternly.

"Because he was there when Brandon broke up with me." I said sitting on a stool by the island.

"What?! Why'd he break up with you?" She asked coming beside me and sitting on another stool.

"Because of the distance from both our colleges I guess." I shrugged looking at my bottle of water.

"Well he's an idiot for letting you go." She said hugging me. I hugged her back as I hear a little girl say, "Mommy?"

I looked at the little girl and she had blonde long wavy hair, with a green little nightgown. She had blue eyes and she was holing a blanket.

"Who's this?" I asked mom.

"Surprise!" She exclaimed with joy.

I looked at the little girl and a little boy was by her side. He had the same features, but he was in Transformer pjs and he was sucking his thumb.

"What's going on?" I asked mom.

"Meet Sam and Jake, your new brother and sister. They're twins!" She said with joy. I looked at them and they smiled.

I walked over to them and bent down. "Hey Sam and Jake, I'm Alex, your new sister." I said. Sam's face lit up and she hugged me. Jake hugged me afterwards. "Well I'm gonna head to bed, it's been a long day." I said giving mom a kiss as I did with the twins. "Night." I said before jogging up the stairs to my room. I quickly jumped into bed and fell asleep instantly.
