Mitch's POV
When she kissed me, I felt a flutter in my chest. She was adorable, and just so perfect. I mean, I didn't like her or anything...
I couldn't...
I was gay. I was. I was sure of that. I'd known I was gay since high school. It was the one thing I was sure of in my life.
But she was cute. I couldn't help but get worried about her when she was hurting. When she and Matt broke up, I wanted to kill him. I wanted to punch him, kick him, and generally hurt him.
As I thought about my possible feelings for Kirstie, there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it," Kirstie said.
I watched as she answered the door. Maybe I did like her... just a little bit...
Kirstie's POV
I opened the door and saw Heat. "Oh, Ice. Hello." He greeted me.
"Heat, not now." I whispered. "Someone else is here."
"Oh, I know," he said. He gestured for me to move, and I pressed myself against the wall to avoid his heat radiation. He walked into the room, leaving scorch marks on the carpet whenever he put his feet down. "You." He said when he was in the room. I looked to see him pointing at Mitch. "Leak."
"What?" I asked. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"Um..." Mitch said.
"Mitch Grassi, I'm afraid your career is coming to an end."
"Heat!" I exclaimed, slightly louder now.
"Hush, four-year." He ordered. I felt tears silently falling from my eyes... they burned when they slipped through the contacts, and as soon as they hit my cheeks they froze to my skin.
"What's going on?" Mitch asked. He looked scared.
"Please no..." I whispered. "He doesn't know anything, can't you see?" My voice gradually got louder until I was yelling. I moved in between Mitch and Heat, and took out my contacts. The ice webbed through my hair, and my skin got extremely pale. I didn't even mean to let that happen... my powers were going array... shit, shit, shit.
When an elemental of one to eight years got desperate, or upset, or sad, their powers went out of control. I could hurt anyone now. Say anything. I was no longer in control. "You don't get to touch him." I growled.
"Ice, move." He said. His voice was so calm. I snarled.
"No." I hissed.
"Move, four-year!" He growled.
"I said no! He doesn't know anything, why can't you just leave him be? You just want to kill him because I'm close to him, and because I love him!" I shouted. I didn't even know what I was saying. My powers were taking over. Soon, I would do something even more stupid than I was already doing.
Mitch was sitting, obviously paralyzed. He clearly didn't understand.
"You will move or your powers will be taken!" Heat shouted, voice booming.
"No!" I screamed. "You can't do that, you fucking monster! Touch him and I will kill you!"
"You can't." He chuckled.
"What is going on here?" I heard a voice from the door. I looked up to see Zima. I ran to her. She was like a mother to me. She wrapped her arms around me, allowing me to sob into her chest. "Hush, child." She whispered.
"Heat's going to kill him..." I sobbed, shoulders shaking.
"No, he will not." Zima said. "Heat, get out." She ordered, voice firm. But he didn't leave.
I heard Mitch yell in fear and pain, and whipped around. But I couldn't see him. All I could see was Heat with a flame shooting from his finger. I gasped and ran forward. What I saw was horrible...
