-Mia
We are escorted out of Kael's building once the 'meeting' is over, if you can even call it that. He just asked where Jasper was and seemed slightly annoyed when Marcus told him that he didn't know, we did ask why he wanted to know but he ignored us so I guess Marcus decided to leave it like that.
I call for a taxi to take us back to the hotel, Marcus just stands there not saying anything. I huff and wait for the taxi to arrive.
-
As soon as we get to the hotel, Marcus goes straight into his room and shuts the door, I sigh and sit on the couch, turning on one of my favourite shows The Vampire Diaries.
I laugh at how unrealistic the werewolves are in that show but can't help but wish I could be a vampire instead. I wish they existed, being a wolf is so tiring and full moons are just plain annoying.
Eventually I fall asleep on the couch, completely unaware of the time although I can guess it was around 1am.
I am awoken by the sounds of crashing and cursing in the kitchen, I immediately bolt upright,
'Who's there?' I call out, clenching my fists. I may not look very strong but I can probably throw a good punch if I wanted to, or if the time came when someone was in the kitchen. Unfortunately that time is now and I'm completely clueless on what I'm gonna do.
Just as I slowly approach the doorway, Marcus' walks around the corner and I slam right into his hard, muscular chest.
Shocked, I double back. Marcus just stares at me blankly before clearing his throat, 'sorry if I scared you.' He says, shrugging.
I clench my jaw, obviously still pissed off at him. Marcus must notice the look on my face as he frowns, 'what's up?' He says, softer than before.
I scowl at the stupid question he dares to ask me, 'what's up? How could you ask that after what happened earlier and then you basically ignoring me the rest of the day. That's just shitty, Marcus.' I say.
The expression on his face is unreadable, maybe somewhere between confused and angry. Finally he opens his mouth the speak; 'do you have feelings for me, like more than just friends?'
Now it's my turn to be speechless. The question pierces through me, followed by utter shock. It takes me a while to actually process his words.
Do I like Marcus?
As he studies my face for a reaction he exhales deeply, 'I guess not.' He says firmly and walks past me, into his room and shuts the door behind me.
-
I pull my packed suitcase into the hall, double checking my passport is in my hand luggage, I look up to see Marcus waiting for me. Things are obviously still awkward from yesterday, so I decide to clear the air.
'Have you heard from Jasper then?' I Ask and study his face.
'Nope.' He replies blankly, not even bothering to look at me.
Marcus opens the door to the corridor and takes mine and his suitcases to the lift.
This is going to be even more awkward than I expected.
-
The lift down in the elevator was awkward enough, let alone the plane journey back. I swear I nearly slapped Marcus for being such a douche towards me after our heated conversation yesterday.
But do I really have feelings for him?
Fuck. Of course I do. I always have done I just could never admit it to myself.
Our car pulls up in the driveway to the Lockwood mansion and Marcus gets out, me following him. The driver takes care of our bags as we climb the steps to the front door.
Marcus steps inside, not even holding the door for me, I scoff quietly and follow him inside.
'Where have you been?!' Comes an angry voice from the kitchen.
Marcus groans, 'hello brother, long time no see'
Dylan emerges from the kitchen with a stern look on his face, 'so you thought you could just take off and not tell me?! You think it's okay to leave me with Jasper?! You know full well that I'm terrified of him!!' he shouted.
I was shocked. I don't think I've ever seen Dylan quite that angry before and I've known him a long time. He's always that smiling happy nerdy kid but right now he's a whole other person.
'Dylan, calm down I'm sorry Okay?' Marcus sighed, obviously he wasn't too bothered with what Dylan was trying to say, this only angered him further.
'No! You're not even listening to me! I got the blame for this! Not you, me. Jasper was furious so he took it out on me. Don't you get that?!'
'I'm sorry! I can't do anything now can I?' Marcus raises his voice slightly and I start to feel really out of place in this situation.
'Where even is Jasper, have you seen him?' Marcus asks and briefly glances around the room, almost as if he thought that Jasper would magically appear from the ceiling.
'Isn't he with you, I thought he went looking for you?' Dylan asks
Marcus shakes his head, 'I haven't seen him since yesterday, I thought he was coming back before us.'
'Well I haven't seen him.' Dylan shrugs
Marcus grumbles. 'Whatever.' He mutters and walks out of the room. Leaving me alone with Dylan.
'Did you guys have a fight?' Dylan asks and leans against the wall,
'Something like that' I admit and look at the floor, 'we haven't really talked properly for two days'
'Woah, really? That's probably why he's in such a bad mood' Dylan guesses
I nod in agreement and sigh, Dylan obviously catches onto my mood and smiles sympathetically 'do you want to go home?' He asks.
I think about it before nodding, 'yeah actually I really do.'
'I can walk you there if you like?' He offers but I shake my head.
'It's okay. I'll be fine.' I assure him and he nods
'Well if you're sure.' Dylan sighs
I smile slightly at him before walking back outside and starting the two mile walk to my house.
