Slowly I open my eyes, adjusting to the light coming into the room, as I wake up I can feel her against me, my arms around her waist, pulling her into my chest.

I can hear her steady breaths telling me that she's still asleep, her chest rises and falls in a deep and regular rhythm.

Not wanting to wake her, I carefully remove my arms from around her and get out of my bed, making sure to pull the covers over Mia's sleeping body just so she doesn't get cold.

Quietly, I tiptoe out of my room and down the hallway to my brothers room. He usually keeps it locked but I'm willing to break the door down if it means that I'll get the answers I need.

I need to know what he knows about our parents death.

Jasper is a few years older than me, he's also alpha which makes him a lot stronger than me. He could probably kill me if he wanted to, and sometimes I really get the feeling that he wants to.

He wasn't always cruel, he used to smile all the time and be kind to Dylan and I. But those days are long past, and that brother of mine is long dead, buried under the mountains of emotion that I know he keeps locked away inside of him, the only emotion he dare show is his anger.

I used to think that there was hope for him, but now I know that I was deluded. Nobody can save my brother now, he is too far gone for anyone to pull him back.

As I reach his room my hand stretches out and brushes the door knob, my gaze lands on the 'do not enter' sign on his door but I completely ignore it and twist the handle.

Locked. As I suspected.

Hastily I pull out a hair grip from my pocket, I stole it from Mia when she wasn't looking. I don't know how to use this thing but it always works in the movies.

I crouch down in front of the lock and stick the hair grip in, twisting it until I hear a quiet click. Standing up, I turn the handle again, this time the door opens. Revealing my older brother's room.

I make sure to be extremely quiet as I first walk inside, I don't exactly know what I'm looking for, but I hope that I'll find anything that will indicate what happened the night my parents died.

I glance over to Jaspers bed, I can faintly make out a shape in the bed through the darkness, although I daren't go any closer in case I wake him.

I haven't been in this room since I was at least ten years old, now the walls are black and stripped of their colour.

I carefully tiptoe over to a table which looks rather like a desk, I can make out piles of paperwork all stacked up at the side, next to a laptop. My eyes dart to the drawers and quickly I dart over to them, pulling them open, desperately trying to uncover my brothers secrets.

More paperwork fills all of the drawers, most likely that they are alpha business, or maybe not. I rummage through the bottom drawer until my hand falls upon something rather interesting, I pull it out and my eyes widen slightly.

It's a family picture, an old one. My mother and father are there, holding a very young Dylan, next to them stand a child version of myself next to a slightly older Jasper. My heart warms slightly at the sight of it, but the feeling is quickly exterminated when I remember just who my brother is now.

I hear a noise coming from the other side of the room, Jasper must be waking up. Quickly and quietly I shut the drawers and tiptoe towards the door.

As I'm making my way to my escape, I trip over a hard object in the middle of the floor and fall. Landing with a thud on the hard wooden floor.

Shit.

I jump to my feet, and sprint out of the door, ignoring the angry calls coming from my older brother. I run down the doorway and into my own room where I slam the door behind me and lock it so Jasper can't follow me in and beat the shit out of me, which he would probably do if he could.

Mia sits up and gives me a confused look, I'd forgotten that she was in my room, I'm so used to being on my own.

'Sorry.' I mutter and sit down next to her, 'I forgot you were here' I admit and look up into her beautiful blue eyes.

'Why were you running?' She asks, confusion still laced across her face.

'Never-mind, it was stupid' I told her and she nodded, obviously not wanting to force the answer out of me, which I was extremely grateful for.

An awkward silence follows, I hate awkward silences. Desperately I try and scramble my mind for something, anything to say.

'Do you wanna go out... on a date? Like right now?' I manage to choke out, since it was the first thing that came to mind.

Mia pauses for a second before smiling warmly at me, 'I'd love to, Marcus.'

I sling my leather jacket on and walk outside, Mia following behind me, I take out my keys for my motorbike and hand her my helmet,

'Use this.' I smile slightly at the look of horror on her face,

'I've never been on a motorbike before.' Mia says quietly, I take her hand to reassure her.

Man I really suck at this boyfriend shit.

Wait am I her boyfriend, I don't even know at this point, but I'm assuming since I'm about to take her on a date...

'There's a first time for everything, and I promise that you'll be safe' I encourage her and she nods, putting the helmet on her head.

Damn, she's so cute.
