- Mia
I try to steady my breathing as I look up at the tall building I will have to climb if I want to find Marcus.
'Are you sure that he's here?' I ask Kael, through the piece in my ear, for atleast the 500th time.
'Yes, I'm sure, just get in there, get the boy and get out then you're free to go.' I can imagine him rolling his eyes right now.
I sigh and look down at the rope in my hands. I take it and start to climb the drainpipe all the way up to the top.

When I reach the open window, I throw the rope in there and secure it to the latch before tying it around my waist and climbing through the window, trying not to make any noise.
I stand up shakily and sigh in relief at the fact that o didn't just fall to my death, before looking around at my surroundings and deciding what to do next
The room is small and dark, it smells damp and it's filled up with storage boxes, piled up to the ceiling.
I walk slowly over to one of the boxes and pull open the lid, peering into it.
They're empty?
I hear something like a rustle, causing me to look up and around the room, my heart rate quickening at the thought of someone knowing I'm here
I exit out of the small, damp room. Entering into a corridor, the lights flicker putting me on edge. I gulp and slowly wander down the corridor.
My footsteps echo, making me cringe. Whoever is here right now could be watching my every move. I shudder at the thought and keep walking down the corridor until I reach the room at the bottom.
I click open the door and walk into an office, it smells slightly better than the last room I was in but also slightly familiar...
I wander over to the desk and fiddle with the computer but it won't turn on, I sigh and stand up again, looking around the room until my eyes land on a jacket in the corner.
Hanging up in the corner is a leather jacket. The same one that belongs to Marcus.
Why is his jacket here?
I go over and take the jacket in my hand, it's definitely his as the scent belongs to him, my only question now is why would a jacket belonging to Marcus be at the place he's held captive?
A better question is why does the place he's being help captive seem so nice, shouldn't it be horrible and dark and stink? Or is that too stereotypical?
I put the jacket back where I found it and open the other door in the room, when I open it I see a staircase. My curiosity gets the best of me and I start to walk up that staircase.
When I get to the top it's weirdly quiet, I really don't trust this place, it gives me the heebeejeebies.
I seem to be standing in yet another hallway, I quietly groan to myself and curse the hallways in this building before slowly walking down it to the door at the bottom.
As I approach the door I start to hear noises. I stop. And listen.
I can hear shouting, and smashing and banging. It sounds like someone's having a fight.
I creep to the door and peer through the small glass window in it, my eyes immediately widen with shock because of what I see.
Marcus is there, and so is Jasper. They seem to be punching and kicking each other. But this is no play fight.
I can tell by their expressions that this is a serious fight and someone is going to get really hurt if not killed if someone doesn't stop them as it doesn't look like they will stop themselves.
I want to go in there and stop them but I know if I do that, I would only cause more trouble for Marcus and cause Jasper to dislike me more than he already does.
I know that if I leave the boys one or two things will happen; they will stop themselves, or they won't.
I just hope it's the first one. I sigh and sit down on the floor, trying to ignore the noise that's coming from inside that room.
•••
After what seems like hours it finally stops and I here a door slam, I stand up and peer through the window again to see Jasper sitting on the couch with his head in his hands.
For the first time in forever I think I see Jasper in a way I've never seen him before, he genuinely looks vulnerable, which is crazy. He's ruthless and doesn't care about anyone, right?
Without even thinking I find myself opening the door and walking in. Jasper looks up and immediately his expression changes.
First confusion then slight anger and then neutral.
'You.' He says, lowly.
'Yes. Me, I'm here for Marcus.' I say, clenching my fists which are at my sides by now.
To my surprise, Jasper doesn't shout or lose his temper. He just stays the same, simply shrugging his shoulders,
'He's through there.' Jasper nods towards the door in the corner and I gulp.
'Why did you follow us? Here, to Paris.' I question Jasper,
In reply he scoffs before answering, 'to protect Marcus, but whatever. He doesn't appreciate everything I've done so I just won't bother. You can tell him that he's on his own from now on, and we'll see how he lasts before he needs me to save his ass again.'
I don't quite understand what he means but by the look on his face I can tell Jasper doesn't want to talk to me anymore so I just walk over to the door and go inside.
My eyes immediately fall on Marcus who is sitting on a bed in the corner, his eyes are red and puffy.
He looks up at me and then stands, I don't even have to say anything before he strides towards me.
I expect him to wrap his arms around me in a hug but instead he grabs my face,
And his lips crash onto mine.
