-three months later-

'Are you coming tonight Mia?' My friend, Sophie, asks me, a huge smile on her face.

'Coming Where?' I Ask, furrowing my eyebrows slightly.

'To the party, duh. Keep up!!' She joked, 'you are gonna come right?' Sophie says and gives me a hopeful glance.

'Who's party is it?' I say, I haven't heard of any party on tonight.

'It's being thrown by Marcus and his brother Dylan, we have to go!' Sophie squeals but I just feel sick.

I haven't spoken to Marcus in three months and it feels like Dylan is avoiding me. I can't just show up at their party!

'Oh... I don't know, Sophie, can't we just have girls night?' I groan

'No way! I am not missing this party so therefore you must come with me and that's an order!' She exclaims. 'Plus, Lucas told me he wants to take you so you better say yes!' Sophie hisses.

Lucas has obviously had a thing for me ever since I started hanging out with Sophie and the others, but he's never tried to ask me anywhere, I guess he finally plucked up the courage or something.

I sigh and roll my eyes, 'fine. I'll go.' I finally admit, causing Sophie to jump up and down with joy

'This is going to be so much fun!' She says happily.

No. It's really not.

-

I stare down at my black dress and trainers, this party is making me feel so sick. Just the thought of it is making me feel uneasy.

It feels like forever that I've seen Marcus, and now I'm going to his house? Am I dreaming? No. I'm not. I'm just slightly crazy it seems.

Lucas told me that he'd pick me up at 7:00pm, I stare at my phone- 6:45pm, My hand is shaking.

I need to get a grip.

As I start to pace around my room I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, It's Lucas.

I grab my purse and a jacket, and run downstairs to the door almost tripping and falling on my butt

Smooth.

I straighten my dress and open the door, trying my hardest to put a big smile on my face.

Lucas smiles softly back and holds his hand out to me, 'you look lovely' he compliments

'Thanks,' I say warmly and take his hand, shutting the door behind me.

Lucas leads me to his car and even opens the door for me, what a gentleman. Marcus wouldn't do that for me.

I need to stop.

Pushing Marcus to the back of my mind, I thank Lucas again and get in the car.

-

We arrive at the party fashionably late, or not. As soon as I walk through the door, the memories and pain hit me almost square in the face.

I take a deep breath and let Lucas lead me to the rest of our group, Sophie approaches me with a huge grin on her face,

'It's about time you showed up!' She says and pulls me into a tight hug.

I chuckle 'sorry' I hug back slightly.

I don't listen to the mindless chatter going on between my friends, my mind is purely focused on avoiding Marcus and Dylan at all costs.

I don't expect to see Marcus since he's acting alpha, with Jasper gone and all. But I still pray that I won't run into him.

Lucas taps my arm and I snap out of my trance 'huh?' I mutter and he laughs,

'I asked if you wanted a drink?' Lucas says sweetly.

'Oh! Yeah that would be great' I nod and smiled sheepishly.

While Lucas goes to get my drink I look around the party once again until my eyes land on Dylan.

He's talking to some other guy, I can't make out who but Dylan seems kind of frustrated.

Without even thinking I start making my way towards them, pushing through the crowd of drunk teenagers.

Dylan makes a face at the guy before turning and walking away, he hasn't seen me yet, I follow him from a distance, every second I get closer to him.

'There you are!' A voice interrupts me and I jump, turning towards the voice.

Lucas hands me a drink and gives me a confused look 'where were you going?' He asked and takes a sip of his own drink.

'Oh... I just needed some fresh air, it's pretty hot in here' I lie and take a sip of my own drink so as not to look suspicious.

Lucas doesn't seem to see through my lie so he only smiles in response 'we can go outside now if you like?' He offers and I nod.

'Yeah, actually that would be nice' I admit and shrug.

Lucas takes my hand and leads me through the crowd and out into the backyard of the Lockwood mansion.

As I step outside I breathe in the cool night air and immediately feel more at ease. I let the wind cool me down before glancing at Lucas who's watching me with an eyebrow raised.

'What, I'm just really hot' I laugh slightly and he nods.

'I know, it was pretty hot in there' he agrees and sets his empty glass on the wall.

I do the same and walk over to him, leaning on the wall slightly.

'I really like you, Mia.' Lucas starts, 'I have ever since you started hanging out with us. I just didn't know how to tell you.'

I nod, 'I know, I kinda figured it out' I admit and stare at the floor.

'Really?' He asks 'was it that obvious?'

I chuckle, 'sort of.' I look up at him, the moonlight illuminates his face.

It's almost like time stands still before Lucas leans down to kiss me.

As soon as his lips touch mine, I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him towards me.

The kiss is nice and soft, Lucas deepens it and I hate myself for admitting I'm enjoying it.

Lucas' hand reaches the end of my dress and alarm bells start ringing in my head.

'No' I mutter but my head is too fuzzy and heavy for me to stop him.

The drink, Lucas gave it to me.

My head pounds and spins and he lifts up my dress.

-

Oh shit some beef gonna go down, do y'all think she can save herself?
