Y/N POV
The storm clouds were moving in faster than we were. I had to undo my wrap and use it as a shawl since the storm's winds had begun to pick up speed.
"It's gonna be a buh-big one huh?" I chuckled as goosebumps exploded across my body.
I shivered violently and hugged the wrap tightly around my shoulders. Back in Sinnoh, I would have Arcanine by my side at all times to keep me warm, but she hates the rain and I couldn't do that to her after cutting the beach time short.
"Hey." I felt a nudge on my arm as Guzma tried getting my attention.
He was holding his tank top out to me. I took the shirt and looked at him, he had an undershirt on.
"You wear layers to the beach?" I asked, amused.
"Are you cold or not? Don't make me regret nothin', it's not my fault I came more prepared than you." He put on his tough guy face and kept walking.
I smirked at his stride. It seems like his swagger skyrockets when he tries to do something human. I pulled his shirt over my head and was overwhelmed by his cologne. I wasn't gonna lie to myself, it was really nice. I tied the wrap around my waist again and tucked my arms inside the shirt.
"Okay so, this is actually much better. Thank you." I said triumphantly.
Guzma bit his lip, as if he were restraining laughter, and shook his head, "You look like a dork. An armless dork."
"At least I'm not an AIMLESS dork!" Oh heck, someone kill me while they can.
Mentally kicking myself, I waited for a response. To avoid total humiliation, I tried to see his reaction out of the corner of my eye. My face was probably red as a Rotomdex, and I couldn't let him see that.
He wasn't looking at anything, he was just- holding his face.
"You alright?" I prodded.
"Fine as.. can be, lady-bro." He said through his hand.
I had no response to that. I just kinda chuckled and kept going.
The rain started to come down as we walked through Paniola Town. I called out Golisopod, and Guzma did the same. The tall Pokemon provided phenomenal protection from the rain. My sandals squished around in the mud and I couldn't help but notice our Pokemon kicking up some of the wet Earth at each other. It's great to know that out of this entire thing, Golisopod made a new friend.
"We're almost there." I said, sounding more disappointed than I meant to.
My house is right outside of town. I hate wasting money on medicine items when it's not unreasonable to just walk to a Pokemon Center.
I picked up my pace to a near jog and broke out into a near sprint when my home came into view. The raindrops came down hard and formed small streams in between the shingles on my roof. Man, do I just want to wrap up in some dry clothes right now.
Guzma's POV
The rain started coming down pretty hard. Not that I minded, I lived in constant rain for years in Po Town. In fact, I've really grown to like it.
Y/N booked it to a small house right outside of this gross ranching town. It's weird that she'd seek shelter here instead of in town. My efforts in keeping up with her were lacking, my pace was just fine.
I looked up an down the old, brown exterior of the building. It was quaint. The windows by the door and on what I assumed to be the second floor were all dark. I don't think she'd have much luck getting any attention from the residents here.
