Guzman's POV

It's been two days since Y/N caught some creep sneaking around in the bushes. She hasn't told me anything and refuses to answer any of the questions I have. The secrets are killing me.

It's still early in the morning, we've just shared breakfast and she's been on her phone through all of it. Her face has been twisted in a scowl and it pains me that there's nothing I can do to fix her frustration. I owe her everything and the fact that I'm just some burden she took on makes my blood boil. I can't stop thinking about it. Maybe Plumes was right. Maybe I was hoping for more than I deserve.

"I think I'm going to go home..." I blurt out.

Her body froze. She slowly put down her phone and looked at me. A flurry of sadness and horror shown through the exhaustion in her beautiful eyes. Even as a mess she's still so beautiful.

"What?" She broke the silence.

"I dunno, it just seems like you're busy with 'not-champion' work... All I'm doin' is getting in your way." I said, defensively.

Shit. I can't help but come off as hostile. She put down her phone and held her hands out. I rubbed the back of my neck and declined her plea for contact.

"Please, Guzma, please can we talk about this?" She begged.

Anger bubbled under my skin as I shot up from my chair. I couldn't stop myself, I was just so mad at her for shutting me out. Whatever. Couples fight.

"Oh, now you're ready to talk? It took me threatening you to get you to finally want to talk to me? I'm not some pet, Y/N. You offered to help with my trials and you haven't even been doing that. What's the fuckin' point of me being around?" I snapped.

I could see the water pooling in her eyes. She couldn't respond. That was strange, where was her rage? She had an eerie look of what seemed to be understanding which only fueled my anger. Who does she think she is trying to get what I'm feeling? I couldn't stop the words from spilling out.

"You're never around anymore. You left me, again."

I couldn't stop

"You ruined my life then"

Shut up, just shut the fuck up before you go too far

"Just like you're ruining it now"

That was it. I could see the shift in her eyes that I was all too familiar with. I ruin everything.

I closed my eyes and braced myself for whatever she was going to throw my way, but to my surprise there was nothing. All of my adrenaline immediately melted away when I realized she wasn't coming after me. She just slowly shuffled to her bag and stuffed her team inside.

"Y/N..." I started.

"We need supplies..." she sounded like a zombie, "I'll be back soon."

There was a sharp pain in my chest when she gently closed the door. It felt like I was going to throw up. My partners all stared at me from across the room. They all seemed so sad.

"What are you lookin' at?" I barked, "She started this. Things wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't been this way."

They all shuffled away. They didn't believe me. How could they when I couldn't even believe myself.

"No... No, it's my fault and I gotta make it right."

Before I could grab my jacket, there was a knock at the door. It felt weird answering the door in another person's house, but that didn't matter because the lock started to rattle and a young man with platinum blond hair and a lab coat with a key made his way into the house.
