Woke up, Not impressed

The sun's rays reached my eyes through my window which woke me up, obviously. Wait a minute, usually I don't wake myself up everyday and this time I did. Usually my-.."Max! Wake-..Oh, you're awake. Well, time to start the day" my thoughts were suddenly interrupted by my dad who surprisingly barged in my door. I frowned then he just left. So to 'start' my day, I fixed my bed and hair then packed my things for school. I headed downstairs for me to eat and get things ready. In case you didn't know, it was only me and my dad around here in our crop fields. Mom, well, she's gone..but dad did take it really good after about two years. However, we both planned things out straight from now on and we've decided for him, anyways, not to remarry. It's hard for me though since I have known mom when I was just five then, *poof*, gone. Mostly my dad doesn't take care of our crops but his fighter plane. You see, dad fought in the war, World War 2, to be exact. He had a closet full of ancient relics and artifacts from the war and crap. But there was one relic that amazed me a lot, a wrist gauntlet that looked a bit bronze but it was good for me. My dad though doesn't let me near that closet so it just sits there on that closet. So, after I've eaten and bathed and changed my clothes, I set out to school. "Dad, can you at least fly me off to school?" I complained to him. "The cities have a no-fly zone" he informed me once again from yesterday. "Oh, yeah. Well, I have to go" I walked away and to the main road. Where me and my dad live is a few blocks away from the city near us. Sometimes those two people come to my house to....pick me up. This time I just saw them walking towards our crop field. "Hey!!" I waved towards the two of them while shouting. Seemingly Evelyn noticed me shouting at their faces. "Hey, hey, Darryl. It's Max" I overheard their conversations as Darryl was listening to his music. "Eyy, you're right" he said as he put his headphones down. They both ran towards me and I walked towards them. "Ev, I woke up 'early' today. Pretty neat, huh?" I smiled at her face. "Sure, such a 'miracle', Max" she said then started to walk towards the city. "Wh-what do you mean a miracle?" I sounded confused. I really hoped she was sarcastic about it.
