I turned back to my human state and I started to dig through my box full of junk throughout my life. "It's gotta be here somewhere" I told myself. "You gotta lot of childhood there" Darryl peered through my box whee I was digging through. I was looking for an aviator helm that I used to use whenever I flew with my dad up in the sly but I barely use it right now. Darryl spoke up when he was looking at my shelf. It was the helm and I took it then placed it on Darryl. "What the-, hey!" he complained. "Don't complain, it fits you" I told him as I changed to my gryphon form. I walked near my window and I told him to go with him. "Wait, wait, wait. You're gonna carry me, aren't you?!" he said. "...Yes" I paused for a bit since he knew my plan. Darryl didn't take my plan very good and neither did I since the higher we would get, the lower the oxygen would get. But while Darryl was walking around and complaining, I grabbed his hand then we both swooped up in the sky.
Darryl was clambering on my wrist while he looked down on the ground where it seemed smaller and smaller when I flew upwards some more. "Why!?" he shouted but all I could was a whispering faint. Although I the wind mostly took off the words off of his mouth, I could still hear him. "Because I don't have time, that's why" I snickered my words clearly for Darryl to hear. "At least give me a head's up!" he shouted. I didn't take long until we both reached the highest point of the sky where there were no clouds on sight.
I picked Darryl up on my shoulder where he could get a good view of the clear horizon where the two suns were at their highest in the day. "It looks good" he smiled with amazement. "Not just that" I said while pointing to the right a bit where the Fortress was stationed. "That's...it? The Fortress you said" he said. I nodded and I told Darryl to just sit on my back while I swooped towards the big floating block of dirt that was connecting to the invisible or visible bridge. As we land down, the block of ground, Darryl was shivering a bit from the flight. "Alright, a bit of ground in the middle of the sky. What else could you surprise me with, Max?" he asked me. "You'll see" I told him.
We walked across the bridge and when we got near the two knightly statues, we stopped. I figured Darryl hasn't been accounted here and it seems if telling that he was a human was a 'good' idea. The knights halted us as we walked again. The spoke the same words from last time and they spotted my non-creature guest. "That being...which specie is it from" one of the knights spoke. "H-human?" I guessed. The two knights lifted up their swords up and they grabbed them with ease. They both looked down at us with fury. "No mortal human is able to pass" they both raised their swords up but before I dash both Darryl and myself off, I was unable to move. "I-i can't move" Darryl struggled to turn his head but can't. The two concrete and mossy swords erupted in flames then turned into a pure silver appearance. Before the swords could actually get us, they stopped where they stood and they just returned back to their positions back where they were.
