Aero Flight: Ascending Skies

I was the bird again before they saw me

I stayed inside my room, playing games on my computer and maybe also eating. My dad didn't even realize I've clambered up onto my window to my room. So when nightfall came, I was expecting the two of them to come over. Somewhere at nine or eight, I heard some noises a few feet away from our house. "Max!" as the voices sounded more and more louder. "Shut up! Over here" I shouted back. They were both walking by the road and near my house. "Could you guys get a little quieter?!" I said. "No, we can't" Ev threw a small pebble at my face and I walked back a little.  Darryl was climbing up my roof and into my room through the window. Figured the only in was my window then Ev followed Darryl in too. "So...where's this gauntlet you told us?" Ev asked me. "I put it back on the closet thing, you know my dad's gonna flip out when he sees the relic gone" I reminded her. "Right...so you're going to steal it again?" Darryl said. I walked towards the door, "Yes, you guys stay here while I'm going downstairs to go get it". I took my phone with me to light the way so that I wouldn't wake my dad up with some lights on. I found myself near the closet again and the gauntlet in front of me. I slowly slid open the glass door of the closet and I picked up the gauntlet from where it was then I went back up to my room. The two were just scrolling down on their holo cams. "I got it" I informed them as I shut the door behind me. "That's it?" Ev inspected the gauntlet that I was holding. The wrist gauntlet still had the glyphs on it and it's safe to say that there was proof. "Alright, I'm gonna show you guys what just happened yesterday" I sounded really confident on what I'm about to do. As I equipped the wrist gauntlet on my wrist, it did glow but I didn't fee like had turned into a hawk or a bird. "So..what happened?" Ev asked me. "What?! No, no, no. It happened last time just-" I pounded the bronze/silver gauntlet while it glowed. "It's..glowing but what's happening?" Darryl asked me as he watched as the bird glyph on the gauntlet emanated. I looked like a total idiot right in front of them. "Are..you high?" Ev smiled. "No....wait, am I?" I was confused. "Well, if you are, we'll take our leave" Darryl said as he clambered down the window then Ev followed him down. They seemed unsatisfied this night and so was I. However, after Ev had fallen off of my window, I was being cloaked in a golden light then there was a loud screech resembling that of an eagle. My whole body was covered in feathers again. The gauntlet's flashing light on the bird glyph, illuminated even more. I walked towards the door, hoping I could still call out to them but they were already a few miles away. "Squawk!" I blurted out instead of saying, 'damn'.
