(Y/n)'s adventure resumes in this chapter of The Lie. I wonder who lies.
____________________________________It was an entire year later but it was happening again. One would think that having control over the dream realm would prevent nightmares. Maybe (y/n) just didn't know how to do that yet.
She was asleep on her and Gladion's way to the next part of their adventure. They were leaving their apartment back in Kanto and heading to a new one in the Hoenn region. She and Gladion had already battled all of the gym leaders together and even caught a few new pokémon like the male and female meowstic that they now had.
Gladion had swithched out his porygon in his party so he could carry around his new meowstic. She thought that things would be pretty awesome in Hoenn but the nightmare she was currently having told her otherwise. It was the same one she had seen the night she and Gladion stood under the moon on the that ship a year ago.
She hadn't even known what it meant but she knew it couldn't mean anything good. The nightmare started of as a simple dream. Gladion would be carrying her piggyback style and they would be walking through this forest that (y/n) had never seen before.
Gladion would say, "You know that I love you right?" and she would of course answer, "Yes, of course." And there was nothing wrong with the dream at that point. It's what happens next that gets disturbing. Gladion suddenly drops her and she falls to the ground.
"Good so you wouldn't mind if I left you trapped here if I told you it was for your own good. I would only be doing it to protect you," he then says as he kneels next to her. She was never able to say anything after this happened.
Gladion would then lean over and kiss her forehead before pulling out some ropes from who knows where and he would somehow manage to tie her to a nearby tree despite her struggling to fight him off without hurting him.
"It's okay, (y/n). I'm doing this for your own good. Just trust me. You trust me don't you?" he would whisper into her ear. Then he simply walked away, but as he did, the ropes and trees and grass around her were replaced with a cage. Gladion stood next to someone with a blue outfit on.
"You caught her easily just like you said you would. Good job!" the person said with barking laughter. He patted Gladion on the back. That was when he turned around to look at her and his expression showed no concern nor did it show any hint of apologie. It was like he truely hated her. Then he walkes over to her as she stared at him helplessly from the inside of the cage.
"You lied to me, (y/n). You said that you knew I loved you but if you really did know, you wouldn't have lied to me," he said. He was glaring at her very harshly. She still couldn't say anything so she would start to cry and shake her head at him.
His expression would then soften tremendously and he would open the cage. Then he would push her to the back of the cage's bars and kiss her. The nightmare never actually let him carry out the action though. He would always be only a little distance away when she would suddenly find herself chained to some sort of alter.
"Yes she will be the perfect sacrifice. Rayquaza won't be able to resist the sacrifice girl and when the great sky lord comes down, we will capture it and use it to carry out our plans," a voice said. (Y/n) never found the source of that voice but as soon as she tried to look for it, she found Gladion instead.
"What are you doing here. I told you to stay away from me. You never listen to me do you?" he would say. And then a blast or a ray of some sort would come from the sky and directly hit her. This was the only time she found herself able to speak or more like scream.
Gladion would walk through the beam unaffected and say to her, "You must not lie to me anymore. Tell me the truth. Did you kill them?"
(Y/n) could not respond to him and the nightmare ended with her being suspended in the familiar air of the dream realm. She hated this nightmare.
It played with her feelings toward Gladion and she knew it meant something since she was having the nightmare repetitively lately. She felt arms wrap around her and she woke up.
"You ok? You seem like something's bothering you. Did you have a bad dream?" It was Gladion who had wrapped his arms around her and asked her this. He had small bags under his eyes and (y/n) took this as an opportunity to avoid his questions.
"Why haven't you been sleeping again, Gladion? I thought I told you last time not to skip on your sleep. Is there something bothering you? Like a dream maybe?" she said. He looked her directly in the eyes and shook his head.
"There's nothing wrong with me. I'm just worried about you that's all," he said. She snuggled closer to him.
"You don't have to worry about me, Gladion. If there was anything bothering me, I would have told you already," she said.
Neither of them had meant to do it. It was a simply act to keep the other safe from harm, but the fact is that they'd both just lied to one another and although it seemed like nothing to them then, it would surely come back to haunt them later.
"Shouldn't we be getting ready to go? The boat should be stopping soon," (y/n) suggested. Gladion nodded and released her. He left his spot on her bed and left to return to his own room.
Ever since that event took place in Kanto, Gladion made sure that he slept near her at night. He had his own room in the apartment that they had combined their money to rent, but something told her that he wouldn't be spending as much time there as he should be.
"Oh, good morning, (y/n). How long have we been alseep? Are we there yet?" It was Reiji.
"Oh no we are almost there, Reiji. You are welcome to fall back asleep if you want to. I don't mind carrying you around but I'm sure most people in Hoenn have never seen an Alolan Vulpix like yourself so if you are disturbed by strangers poking at you, it won't be my fault," (y/n) said.
Reiji ignored her last comments and returned to his slumber. The Hoenn region was only a few more miles ahead. A new adventure awaited them.
