I am still catching up on writing these chapters. I finally got my data back so it will be a whole lot easier now. Here's the next chapter!
____________________________________May was nearly there. She felt the submarine stop. She knew they were there. She thanked Latios for the ride and began to swim to the serface. Latios and Latias had rescued her from the battle that took place earlier that day. She was mad at first because she needed to find Brendan and they were in her way but she became grateful when they told her that he was on the submarine and Latios would help her follow it.
They had all decided that sneaking onto it was too risky. Latias stayed behind in case things got bad and Latios would stay underwater so he could get May and Brendan to safety. Imagine May's surprise when she surfaced and saw Lisia standing on Team Magma's submarine and (y/n) with Team Aqua being carried around in a cage by four grunts.
She got to the land inside the underwater carvern and pulled herself up just as Lisia made her way to her and Team Aqua.
"Lisia what are..." May was saying but Lisia cut her off. "This is all your fault! Because of you, Brendan's going to die!" she yelled at May with tears streaming down her face.
"May?! Lisia?! What are you two doing here? How did you guys even get here?" (y/n) shouted from where she was.
May ignored Lisia because she was already putting the pieces together which was making her anger level rise from lukewarm to volcanic explosion. Lisia could have very well been lying about Brendan dying because of the fact that Lisia was with Team Magma and they were not good people. She had been with them back in Lilycove too.
Not that she trusted Team Aqua either but they hadn't tried kidnapping Brendan. She ran over to (y/n) who was shouting "let me out of this cage" repetitively. (Y/n) was only a few feet ahead of her when May was suddenly tackled to the ground. Lisia was the one who had tackled her.
"Hey, I'm not done with you so heard me out!" Lisia said. Her tears were now gone as if they'd never been there. "I told you Brendan's going to die if we don't do something about it. I'm not a pokémon trainer. Ali has hardly any experience in battles. I need your help to save him, May. I thought we were friends."
"Like you said. We were friends until you backstabbed me. If Brendan really was in danger, why are you helping Team Magma. They're the ones who put him in danger right?" May said as she pushed Lisia off of her.
"Don't you ever listen? We have to go now or else!" Lisia shouted. By then Maxie and Archie with their teams had made their way to the carvern's entrance and they all seemed ready for a fight.
"May! Gladion's with Zinnia. If you can get Latios to find him and bring him here, he can help you find Brendan too. Lisia isn't lying. He really is in danger!" (y/n) shouted. She was out of the cage now and running towards the two of them with Reiji in her arms. No one stopped her as they were too focused on the showdown taking place at the carvern's entrance.
"How'd you know about Latios? How did you even know about Brendan if you were with Team Aqua? Why should I even trust Lisia anymore anyway? She's the reason Brendan's in this mess. She was the one who caused this!" May said. She was now set to boiling water and it would take quite a lot to bring her back down.
"May, I know you're upset but the world is about to end if I don't stop them. I need you to save Brendan on your own. I promise that I'll help whenever I can. I can't tell you why I know so much right now, but can you at least trust me until this is all over?" (y/n) said. May was still frowning but she closed her eyes and nodded before calling out to Latios.
Latios already knew what was going on. He'd heard their conversation, so all May did was nod and he nodded back.
"You were on that submarine so you must know where he was, right?" May asked Lisia. "I umm...yeah I remember but it will take a while. I don't know my way around," she was saying as May was already pulling her towards the submarine. The grunts that were there must have recognized May from earlier at the battle in Lilycove City because they moved out of her way hastily.
"Take me to him," May ordered and Lisia of course obeyed because May glared at her quite menacingly. They went throughout several rooms before they found the one that Brendan had been chained up in. Well, according to Lisia he had been there but now he was gone.
Open chains lay on the floor. A few drops of blood were around them. May wanted to be nothing but optimistic at this point. Had she known it was this bad, she would have rescued him earlier. She would have come for him as soon as he was taken from her.
"I don't understand. He...he was here. He was just here. How could they have moved him elsewhere already?" Lisia said.
"Do you know how many followers Maxie has. Team Magma is not a group to play around with," May snapped as she turned on her heels and walked out of the room. Lisia had to run after her because May wasn't going to wait for her. They were about to search some more when a large explosion sound came from outside of the submarine.
The submarine lurched upward sending May and Lisia to the ground. The two quickly regained their footing once the submarine stopped moving.
"Where's the exit? We have to make sure this thing isn't sinking!" Lisia said. May turned to face her and said, "Shouldn't you know?!"
May didn't want to leave the submarine since Brendan was still somewhere on it, but if the submarine was sinking she needed to get out of it and hope Latios or Latias were there to save Brendan.
When they got to the exit, the submarine had been moved to outside of the sea cavern but that couldn't have been true. The explosion must have broken the cavern appart. That's when May saw them. Groudon and Kyogre in the middle of battle and something purple floated around them.
"Look! Up there, I think it's him," Lisia said pointing to Latios as he and Gladion came to a stop in front of them. Once Gladion got off of Latios, he zoomed off towards the fighting legends.
"We have to find Brendan before it's too late. According to Lisia, Maxie's going to kill him if we can't find him in time," May said as she grabbed Gladion by the wrist and pulled him along with Lisia into the submarine.
It was halfway above sea level but it felt like it was under water. They ran throughout the submarine busting down doors and pummeling any Team Magma grunts who got in their way. Still, they found no sign of Brendan. May was starting to doubt him even being there until they finally found him.
He was in some sort of room where water was flowing through pipes and into the rectangular glass container that Brendan was being held in it was filled up to its max and there Brendan was in the container as he struggled for air that was not there. He must not have been drowning for long because he still was putting up a huge fight to break the glass.
"Brendan!" May yelled. She, Lisia, and Gladion all ran towards him. His eyes flew open and he faught harder but it was no use. The glass was too thick to break. Even so, May didn't stop trying to break it and neither did Gladion but Lisia was standing there. Watching as she couldn't move anymore. She was paralyzed by shock and disbelief. ____________________________________
