Yes I know, but this is sadly the last chapter of this book that corresponds to the plot. Of course there's still the After You Read chapter but you don't have to read that.
____________________________________"Hurry up or we're going to be late!" (y/n) called to Gladion. She wasn't really in a hurry but she was definately eager.
"You can't be late, (y/n). There was no set time for you to be there. Stop worrying. The place is open all day, everyday," Gladion said as he walked out of his room to meet (y/n) at the door. Hau, Lillie, and Sun had already gone back to Alola three days ago so when (y/n) received a notice in the mail that invited her and Gladion to the Battle Resort, she just had to go.
"It's much more fun during the daytime though. We're going to miss it!" (y/n) said worriedly. Gladion just sighed as she opened the door and the two of them walked outside.
"See, it's only a little bit past dusk," Gladion said. (Y/n) knew she was overreacting but she couldn't help it because she really really wanted to go to the Battle Resort.
"We have to hurry though! We still don't know when the boat in Slateport leaves! We. Are. In. Rustboro right now! That's a long way to go," she said frantically.
"Aren't we going to just fly to the resort with your ride pager?" Gladion asked.
"Well, I was...but the ship offers free snacks," (y/n) said while scratching the back of her head. Her hair was once again braided since her hair was so long. She kept the color neutral as much as she could so that she wouldn't be deemed suspicious.
"If you really want to go that badly, you shouldn't be worried about free snacks," Gladion said.
"I know, I know but they're free. You hardly ever come across free food nowadays," (y/n) reasoned. Gladion just sighed and shook his head at her.
"Well, the choice is yours. Free snacks or instant resort. Don't make me choose for you," Gladion said. (Y/n) summoned Charlie and ended up choosing instant battles since Gladion promised her free snacks later. When they got to the Battle Resort, they spotted someone familiar headed towards them.
"Archie?" they said in unison as the Team Aqua leader pirate came to a stop in front of them.
"Well if it ain't you two folks who saved Hoenn. And you kinda saved my life too. Good to see you but what brings you here?" Archie said.
"I could ask you the same question," (y/n) said. He laughed at her and said, "Well then. Guess I'm first. I'm here cause I disbanded my team. That's right! Team Aqua is no more so I got bored and came here for a little entertainment. I figured that heros of this whole mess would have better things to do than go to some resort," Archie said.
"Some resort?! This isn't just some resort! Only the greatest of trainers get come to the Battle Resort and even they havw to get through a bunch of yellow tape to get here!" (y/n) said. Gladion patted her back to calm her down. He knew how important the resort was to her.
"Okay well then this Battle Resort. But didn't you guys get some kind of reward. You know...money? How much did the Devon Corp. pay you guys huh? Thousands? Millions? You're gonna share, right?" Archie said. Both (y/n) and Gladion sweat dropped.
"Umm, we didn't get paid anything. In fact, nobody knows that we saved Hoenn. We don't want anyone to know anyway," Gladion said.
"What?! No compensation for your troubles? What kind of people are you?" Archie nearly shouted.
"People who want to stay unknown. The less people who know our names, the less people who know about my abilities. I trust that you won't say anything about them but that Team Magma leader might," (y/n) said. Archie looked at them and smirked.
"You won't have to worry about that magma brain. He's long gone. Lost at sea. Ceased to exist. The submarine sank cause Groudon stabbed it with a sharp rock lookin thing. He went down with it. I got to see the whole thing from my ship while I almost died myself," Archie said. Now, (y/n) felt kind of bad.
The guy sure was evil but nobody deserves to die. Imprisonment while being tortured wasn't too bad but death? That was a bit too far.
"Well no need to worry. I get what you two are saying now. Wouldn't want to be kidnapped again huh. I could show you two around. I've been here a couple of times already," Archie said as he began to walk away.
"I still can't believe they let you in," (y/n) muttered while she and Gladion followed him. Archie looked a back at them and said, "They didn't. I may not be any part of Team Aqua anymore but that doesn't keep me from being a pirate."
(Y/n) would have said something to him but they were called by a familiar voice. Well more like (y/n) was called because this person didn't know Gladion.
"Steven? What are you doing here?" (y/n) asked. Steven just shrugged and said, "Sometimes I go to relaxing places away from the league. Being Champion is a hard job you know." He had stopped next to Archie who was now wondering who he was.
"It isn't that hard. You just have to know what you're doing," (y/n) said with a shrug.
"Are you implying that I don't know what I'm doing? I don't ever recal you challenging the league," Steven said. Archie and Gladion were confused but (y/n) was not. This was called the rivalry of champions.
"(Y/n) is the first ever champion of Alola which is a pretty big deal. I'm sure she knows what she's talking about," Gladion said.
Archie was still looking confused so he just shrugged and left while invisible electricity zapped between (y/n) and Steven who didn't seem surprised or even intimidated by what Gladion had said.
"We'll see," Steven said as he turned and walked off towards the battle mansion.
"Is that a challenge!" (y/n) shouted after him but Steven kept walking away.
"Get back here! I didn't finish proving my point yet!" (y/n) said as she began to run after him.
"Hey (y/n) wait!" Gladion said as he ran after her. No way was she letting Steven out do her in the art of pokémon battling.
