"That'll be $150.00 sir," Phoebe said, giving the customer the debit machine.
It was just another day. She was working at her dad's autobody shop, just like every other day since the accident. As long as she didn't have to look at the cars, she would be ok.
"Phoebe, can you come here?" asked her father.
"Sure, dad," she replied as she headed over to him. "What is it? Who's this?"
She was referring to the young, attractive man standing next to her father. He couldn't be much older than her.
"Phoebe, this is Bill. Bill, this is Phoebe, my daughter," he replied, introducing them. They shook hands. "Bill is our newest employee. I like you to train him."
Phoebe was shocked. Train him? she barely knew how to work most of the equipment herself, let alone how to teach someone else how to use them!
"Uh, sure...?" she said, not wanting to deny her father of anything.
Training Bill was easier than Phoebe had expected. He had only been there a week, and he was already better at using most of the equipment than her! and it was helpful that he was built strong for it.
He always seemed so happy when he was around Phoebe, and there wasn't any way that Phoebe could explain how he made her feel. She always had that butterfly feeling around Bill, and and she liked it!
"Phoebe! Wait!" Bill called. "I want to ask you something!" And she waited.
