The Child I Was

The world around me,

Is going too fast,

The seconds race,

And the years pass.

One day, we will all be grown,

There will be regrets,

For the emotions we didn't show,

And feelings we didn't express.

I'll miss the child,

I used to be,

The way I smiled,

Thinking happiness was the key.

I thought I knew,

The issues and flaws,

But then I grew,

From the child I was.

But now that I am older,

I still want and need,

A friend, a shoulder,

Somewhere I can bleed.
