Death Bed

You were dying,

I didn't want to believe it,

You were so healthy,

Now you're just unfit.

I watched as each second passed by,

Getting closer and closer to your death,

I'll always be here, I whisper to you,

Yes darling, to your very last breath,

Your face is as pale as snow,

While your veins rip out of your skin,

Your eyes don't shine as they used to,

And you're less than thin.

Each day, your heart beat is slowing down,

While mine is busy loving you,

I miss you so much and so deep,

You were always the person I turn to.

I hold onto your hand tightly,

But I feel you slipping away,

I'm so very terribly sorry,

I can't do anything to make you stay.

Your absence haunts me everywhere I go,

While your presence used to love me,

I choose death over life, I am trapped,

But you're lucky, you're dead and free.

Life is meaningless without you,

I don't know why I live anymore,

All your compliments that I used to love,

Now hurts like hell to the very core.
