Chapter 1: Hasetsu

You hated that song, no, more like despised it, not because of the soft tune but because of the lyrics.
They may mean the truth but in reality, you didn't have a home to go to, you didn't have a family to go to.
What happened to your family?
...Both your parents were murdered, back when you were only five...and they were killed right in front of your
very eyes.
You could still remember their screams of pain and agony, begging for mercy. Instead, the man simply shot them to death, ignoring them...
After that tragic event, you joined the military. You wanted to train and get stronger just so you could find this man and make him pay for what he did...
You had finally arrived at Hasetsu, your hometown in Japan, the place where you used to live...
As you silently stroll to the station exit, someone accidentally bumps into you, causing you to drop your bag on the marble flooring.
You growl at the stranger as you took off your sunglasses.

"OI!"

"O-O-Oh! I'm so sorry! L-Let me get it!"

You heard the person stutter behind that mask of his that covered his mouth.
This man seemed to be around his twenties but honestly, he looked like a teenage geek. He wore a black beanie, blue-rimmed glasses, a brown buttoned up coat and a blue scarf covered his neck.
He blushes as he handed you your bag, his chocolate brown eyes meeting with your beaming ones.
He then apologetically bows.

"I'm sorry ma'am...I'm very clumsy."

"You should be more careful next time...now if you'll excuse me-"

"YURIIIIIIIII!"

You both heard someone scream in the distance, causing your attention to shine on her. It appeared to be a young lady who had medium length brown hair reaching past her shoulders with her bangs tied in a short ponytail. She also had dark grey eyes and a single mole under the left eye.
She was also slim...probably because she didn't eat much, to you that is.
She hugs the young geek, spinning him around and around.

"Oh it's so great to see you again after so many years!"

A family meeting you saw...you didn't want to go through it. As you were about to turn and leave, the woman then stops you.

"Oh?~ Who's this young lady?~ Yuri, is this your girlfriend?~"

"N-N-No no no you got it all wrong! I just accidentally bumped into her..."
(^^;)

"Oh, okay~ Well, let's get you back to the Yu-Topia Hot Springs! Your parents will be happy to see you again!"

"Wait...The Yu-Topia Hot Springs? Isn't that where the old ice skater Yuri Katsuki lives?"

You asked unexpectedly. The woman turns towards you, surprised. She then smiles and pushes the big geek towards you.

"Yep! This is Yuri Katsuki! Give her a handshake Yuri...or better yet, give her an autograph!"

"I don't need an autograph...I'm not a fan anyways."

The woman stares at you shocked while this Yuri boy rubs his neck, blushing and nervously laughing. The lady however was shocked by your response.

"WHAT?!"

"S-Sorry, people used to know me back then..."

"Whatever...bye."

"W-Wait a moment-"

The woman replies as she tries stopping you by placing a hand on your shoulder. Due to your quick instincts, you grip her arm and flip her, pinning her to the ground.
You stopped what you were doing and get off of her, holding out your hand for her.

"Sorry...military protection skills."

"I-It's fine! Umm, what I was about to say is why don't you come stay at the hot springs? I'm sure Yuri's parents will let you!"

"M-Minako-Sensei! I-I'm sure she has a family to go to-"

"I accept your offer."

You said straightforward. Yuri stares at you dumbfounded as Minako claps her hands together.

"Alright! It's settled then! Come!"

The smell of cherry blossoms still lingered in the chilly air. You button up your uniform as you followed the two, who were now conversing about each other's pasts.
You decided to stay out of their conversation and look around the area. It appeared that some of the shops have closed down and there weren't many people walking around...it was like a ghost town.
Hasetsu has definitely changed ever since you left.
After a few miles of walking, the three of you finally made it to the entrance of the hot springs.
Minako led both you and Yuri inside, where you were greeted by an old woman.
She hugs Yuri while a smile forms across her face.

"Yuri! You're home! Welcome back!"

"H-Hey Mom..."

"Oh? Who's this with you two?"

"Oh! This is...umm..."

Yuri tries to explain, but you skip right to the introduction.

"I'm (L/n) (Y/n), first class soldier, pleasure to make your acquaintance ma'am..."

Yuri and Minako didn't expect you to be in first class, they both stood there with their mouths wide open. The old woman giggles.

"Well nice to meet you Miss
(L/n)! You may stay here if you like! Have some pork cutlet bowls or soak in the hot springs-"

"I'll take the hot springs, so please, don't bother me..."

You strictly informed as you leave your bag and rifle near the front door, searching for the hot springs. The old woman cheerfully smiles.

"Well, isn't she nice?"

As you soak in the steaming hot water, you cover your eyes with a towel, concentrating on your relaxation time.
As you felt your skin soak up the warmth, your memories began flooding back to the day your parents died.
You tried remembering the man's face, but you were so young at the time, you couldn't really get the vision of him, it was all just a blur.
You growl as you clench your fists with anger.

After traveling around the world, I still haven't found the man...
Mom, Dad, I will find this man who ruined our lives...and I will kill him.
