Namjoon sat on the couch, sipping on a cup of water and waiting for his boyfriend to arrive with the popcorn. They'd decided to watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S and as Jin plopped onto the soft piece of furniture beside the other, he grinned enthusiastically.
"Yay!" He exclaimed. "It's the first time in weeks that we've actually had time to "Netflix and chill"." He used air quotes and smiled cheekily.
"You know we have to leave soon, right?" Namjoon said softly, nuzzling into Jin's neck. "I've already made reservations."
"Yeah, but what about Tae and Jisoo?"
"Jimin called. He wanted to take Taehyung to a party," Namjoon explained. "I really think he should go out more. All he does is stay indoors and read." He shrugged and looked away.
"I don't think that's a bad thing," Jin defended.
"Not necessarily. But he could end up isolating himself. Jimin can't hang around with him all the time." Namjoon sipped on the cup of water again. "I'm sure he has a life, unlike Taehyung." He let out a chuckle at the joke and looked at Jin.
"What about Jisoo?"
"She's gonna be at the neighbours'." He said. "I know they don't get along but I pretend not to because I also know that Jisoo can singlehandedly fracture Jennie's spine while filing her nails."
"That...is true." Jin agreed and tilted his head, recalling what Jennie looked like and grimacing at the image.
After five episodes of Namjoon's favourite sitcom and three bowls of popcorn, the two men left for their dinner plans. Namjoon left his siblings a note each, mostly because the whole idea of texting didn't make his feel like a guardian.
The fifteen minute drive was calm and soothing, with slow jazz and conversations about their favourite artists. Namjoon and Jin connected to a very different level. Jin thought it was perfect how they didn't really expect anything specific out of each other, primarily because they understood how minds worked and the relationship in itself was satisfying, leaving no space for second thoughts, petty arguments or unhealthy interactions.
The dinner was delicious and the restaurant was posh, much to Jin's surprise. The two men were more accustomed to pubs and cheap diners, regardless of Namjoon's extravagant income.
"Why did you need to spend so much?" Jin asked lowly.
"Just this, and then we can go grab a beer at the pub."
"Mm. Okay."
The dinner left them full and Jin uncomfortable, what with the whole ambience of the place, but as soon as they entered their regular pub, his mood lightened up.
"The regular, Jac." Namjoon said to the bartender who waved at his daily customers. A few other people waved at the two or nodded in their direction, but nobody made conversation because of the well-known fact that Jin wasn't a people's person.
They gulped down their first drinks in a few minutes, soon asking for a second and then a third. Namjoon, after 4 beers, excused himself and walked to the restroom, mumbling under his breath.
"Joon." He said, looking into the mirror. "You can do this. You're the real MVP. Yes, you can." He took a few deep breaths before rushing out hastily so that he could do what he wanted before his newfound courage left as soon as it had come.
"Babe." Namjoon said. Jin turned around and looked at him with his large, bright eyes. His cheeks were flushed and there was a thin layer of sweat on his face, making him more attractive than he was, if that was physically possible.
Namjoon took a deep breath and kneeled on a single knee, looking up at his boyfriend with a solemn smile. He popped out a small box from his pocket and flipped it open, revealing a platinum band inside. "Marry me."
Jin gasped audibly, earning curious looks from other customers. He slowly leaned forward and pinched Namjoon's cheek. "This is real." He hyperventilated.
The younger tilted his head, looking up eagerly at the most beautiful man he had ever seen. "You didn't even ask me if I will." Jin said with amusement. "Probably because you know I will."
He paused for a moment, which seemed like a whole millennium to the other. "I will."
Namjoon exclaimed with delight and squealed in his most manly voice as he slid the band onto his fiancé's finger. "HE SAID YES!"
The people in the pub celebrated along with the newly engaged couple. It was a good night.

Taehyung's night was anything but good as he yelled at his best friend. "I said I don't want to go!"
"Oh c'mon!" Jimin said. "It's just a party."
"At Jeon Jungkook's place!" Taehyung screeched. "Why the heck would you even say yes to that?!"
Taehyung was furious. He had vowed to stay away from the raven haired football player who made his life so difficult that he wanted to crawl under a rock and die. Jimin had, if anything, encouraged him to do so and a few days later, here he was, asking him to show up at the brat's doorstep.
"You can't make any excuses," Jimin said a matter of factly. "Namjoon hyung said yes."
"I'm not making excuses. I don't need to." Taehyung spat at him. "I don't care what hyung said. It's my life and I said I don't want to go."
"Taehyungieeee," Jimin pouted. "Please! Just this once!"
Taehyung ignored the boy and looked back at his homework, pretending to be absorbed into the pages. His mind reeled with the endless possibilities of what could happen if he met Jungkook again and every muscle in his body repelled the whole thought of being anywhere under ten feet of the bully.
"Okay, then." Jimin looked down and his shoulders sunk. "I guess I'll just have to go alone."
Jimin dragged his feet to the door and looked at the younger with a pout. "I know you don't love me anymore and that's okay...but you just make it so obvious."
Taehyung groaned. "Fine."
Jimin yelped and jumped to the wardrobe, pulling out clothes he had mentally decided his best friend would wear, while he was pouting and pleading.
Taehyung fell back onto his bed and stared at the ceiling. "What a bad, bad night."
