Today was the day of the council. My father and the other's in the council including myself were going to decide the fate of the One Ring. In my own opinion, we should just destroy the stupid thing and get it over with. I'll do it myself, by myself. Couldn't be that hard right? Just then I heard the alarm sounding the council to the meeting. I quickly strapped on my hidden dagger to my thigh under my dress and headed down to the meeting place. Of course I was late.

"Helena, so nice of you to grace us with your presence. It's considered rude to keep company waiting you know. Everyone this is my youngest daughter, Helena. She's the toughest female warrior in Rivendell and the most cunning. Helena, this is Gandalf the Grey. Over here is Aragorn son of-"

"Yeah yeah I know that one. Arwen's little human. On to the next one." I was sure cocky and my father gave me a stern look, but went on anyway.

"This is Gimli son of Glorin, Boromir son of Denethor, Frodo Baggins of the Shire, and finally Prince Legolas of the Woodland Realm."

"Alright, father enough of the introductions. What will we do with the ring?" I looked at all of these people and realized that they were all leaders of middle earth. We are doomed. I thought to myself.

"You are hasty, just as your father once was." Gandalf laughed. I didn't even crack a smile at the old wizard. I was a very serious person, especially on such a serious matter.

My father began talking among everyone and they all began to bicker. I began to walk away when I heard the little one called Frodo say he would take it. I quickly turned around and objected!

"No father, he cannot take the ring! He is much too small and weak. He will be killed and then the ring will fall into evil hands. We cannot risk it. I will take the ring myself and destroy it."

Do not underestimate the hobbit, daughter. I believe that he can do it."

"Then you are more a fool than I thought, father." I was angry now.

Angry that everyone actually agreed to this. They were all agreeing and offering to protect him on his journey. It was pathetic!

"Daughter you are the only fool here. Your shallow mind will one day get you in trouble. Learn to accept others. If you are so angry about our decision, then why don't you go along?"

"Because I could easily take it and destroy it on my own."

"And what if you were to be ambushed by orcs and you're by yourself? What if the nazgul find you and kill you? What then?" This came from Aragorn.

"I shall kill them. I will not fall."

"And I will not lose my daughter!" My father roared. For once, he showed a sign of caring, for me that is.

"Fine, I will join you, but do not expect me to protect you when you are foolish and I will not let you slow me down."

"Then it is decided, you are the fellowship of the ring." My father smiled.

So ends the first chapter. Tell me what you think. :-)
