When we rode to Isenguard we found the two hobbits Merry and Pippin. The were smoking and drinking and having a good time. We were all really happy to see them alive and well. My mind kept going back to Faramir. I felt so bad for what I done. I hurt everyone around me and I've gone soft. I decided it was time to put my wall back up. Haldir was the only one who truly understood me, but he only pitied me after everything was said and done. My own daughter hated me because of the way I was. We rode back to Rohan to sleep for the night. I was glad because I was so tired, I was ready to go back.

That night, the Hobbit, Pippin, decided to be curious. He got a hold of the Crystal ball that Gandalf was holding on to. He held onto it and he saw the evil eye of Sauron. The enemy now thinks he holds the ring. The enemy was targeting Minas Tirith, so Gandalf and I would take Pippin with us and make the three day journey to Minas Tirith.

"Come on Pippin, we must hurry. It's your fault we're in this mess to begin with." I was very angry at this point. There was no sense in this kind of ridiculousness.

"I'm sorry Lady Helena. I just wanted to look at it was all."

"Haven't you ever heard curiosity killed the Hobbit?"

It was silent after that other than the small talk between Gandalf and I. The ride was strenuous, but we never stopped. We made it to Minas Tirith in a little less than three days. When we got there we went to talk to the steward of the kingdom, which I found out was Faramir's father. Great. Gandalf asked that I stay outside and stand guard, so I did.

Suddenly, I saw a bunch of men riding from Osgilath and the Nazguls were on them, killing them. I ran into where Gandalf and Pippin were.

"Gandalf, it's bad we have to hurry!" I yelled. Gandalf knew I wouldn't lie and quickly followed me out the door.

Gandalf jumped onto his horse and headed down to them so he could save them. I wanted to go too, but he wouldn't let me. He said I was needed here.

Gandalf led them into the city and up to the courtyard where Pippin and I were. I quickly spotted a familiar face in the crowd. There was Faramir, dirty and somewhat bloody, he'd been in battle in Osgilath. I instinctively ran up to him, it was like something came over me and my legs moved on their own. I threw myself into his arms and hugged him, but he didn't return my friendly endearment. I stepped back and looked up at him, he only glared at me and then pushed past me to go and speak with Gandalf. For some reason it really hurt me. I watched him walk away from me and not even look back.

Later on that night I was in my room and I couldn't sleep, I was still in my sheer gown, but I decided to go for a walk anyway. The wind was cool and crisp that night. I stood for a moment at the edge of the courtyard, looking out at the field, I knew that soon there would be a battle. I closed my eyes and thought about what it would be like to fall from this height to my death. I hurt everyone around me, even when I think I'm doing what's right. I then spread my arms out like wings and leaned forward to fly off the edge when a pair of arms caught me in mid-air and pulled me back. We tumbled to the ground and I struggled to get away from him; he then put me in a vice grip.

"Let me go!" I yelled at the stranger.

"Helena stop struggling!" I heard the familiar voice of Faramir and I slowly calmed down.

At this point it was silent aside from my heavy breathing. He loosened his grip on me and I turned to him.

"Why did you save me? I wanted to die."

"I'm not letting you die, you're too beautiful for such thoughts."

"I only hurt everyone around me. I have no place in this world, Faramir. You even refused to acknowledge my presence earlier today when I embraced you."

"What? Did you expect me to welcome you with open arms? What you did, tricking me like that was unforgivable, but I refuse to let you take your own life."

"I am not long for this world, my past lover has died and in a way it is my fault. Had I been there, I could have rescued him, now he is gone."

"It is not your fault, Helena, you did not abandon him."

"No, I was being your prisoner when my father spoke into my mind and told me that Haldir was taking his army to Helm's Deep and that I needed to be there."

"It is my fault then, I am sorry." He began to walk away from me and I could smell the salt from the tears welling up in his eyes. Gandalf had told me that his father chose Boromir over him and that he was a failure in the eyes of his father. I didn't want him to think I saw him only as a failure as well.

"Faramir stop, come here." I commanded. He did not listen and kept walking, which only pissed me off more. Nobody ignored me. "Faramir, don't you dare ignore me like that!" I yelled while running after him.

I jumped on his back and knocked him over. We went down with a thud and I went to put him in an arm lock when he bucked me off of him. Here I was in my nightgown fighting a Man and I had no idea why. I was on the ground and this time he was on top of me, though he did not bare his weight on me.

"What are you doing, woman?" He asked me.

"Trying to get your attention, you ignored me and I don't take kindly to being ignored." I smiled.

"Well, at least now I know how to get your attention, I have to ignore you." He smiled as he carressed my cheek.

"I thought you said you would not forgive me."

"I never said that I have. Don't you think you should have at least put something more conservative on before you decided to go walking in a public area?"

"Stop looking then Sir Faramir." I laughed.

"Ahem." We both looked over to see Gandalf standing there, he had a look on his face that said 'I told you so'.

"Oh, hello there Gandalf. Nice night for a walk, huh?" Faramir said as he jumped to his feet, leaving me on the ground exposed. Gandalf took his off his robe and handed it to me.

"Helena, you are not always so careless. Where are your clothes?" Gandalf asked me.

"I was taking a walk, I didn't think anyone else was up and around. I am ashamed, Gandalf, I came out here with the intention of trying to-"

"Get my attention, she was trying to get my attention and it worked. I followed her out here, and I got carried away. That's all, end of story." Faramir saved me, for it was greatly frowned upon for an Elf princess to attempt to kill herself. I think he knew, so he saved me.

"Well, I will let you get back to what you were doing, though next time I would choose a place a bit more secluded." Gandalf laughed and walked away.

"Thank you, Faramir. Walk me back?"

"Gladly." He smiled and put my arm in his as we walked back to my room. He kissed my forehead and bid me goodnight.

I watched him walk away back to where his room is in the kingdom. I smiled and shook my head, what was wrong with me? I was turning into Arwen. I went into my room and shut the door, I laid down and fell into a deep sleep.
