As we ventured into the mines, Gandalf lit a light from his staff. We looked around to see nothing but corpses of slain dwarfs.
"This is no mine, this is a tomb!" Boromir exclaimed. "We should have never come here!"
"Goblins!" Legolas stated, pulling an arrow out of a corpse.
"We turn back!" I commanded.
We quickly ran back to the entrance to make our exit. Our efforts were in vain when a huge lake octopus sprang up from the water and grabbed Frodo.
"Dammit!" I yelled as I drew an arrow and shot it between the beasts eyes. It let go long enough for Aragorn to grab the hobbits and run. Legolas, Boromir, and I fought off the octopus while the other's ran back into the mines.
"It looks like we're back where we started, stuck going through the mines." I said.
Everyone grunted and sighed. I wanted to say I told you so, but I'd save that for a later time.
"Let us hope we can pass through unnoticed." Gandalf said, I nodded in agreement and walked next to him.
Gandalf was by far my favorite. He was wise and could take care of himself. He knew everything about me. My horrible past, my mistakes, my first and only love and his horrible betrayal. He is the reason that I loath men. Men in general, not the race of Man. My first love was of course an elf, one of high power of course. I'd hope I'd never have to see him again. It would be too much. I never felt much emotion, so of course it was alien to me to feel love. Was it love though that I felt for him? No it wasn't that. If it was love I would still feel something, but I don't. Only hate.
"You are lost in thought, princess?" Legolas startled me from my thoughts.
"It's rude to interrupt one's thoughts." I replied duly.
"I apologize, it just looked like something was bothering you was all." He looked sympathetic. I almost felt bad for snapping at him. Then again I didn't because he was a male.
"So, doesn't it bother you being the only woman in the fellowship?" Boromir came up and asked.
"No why should it?" I asked.
"You know why. Men have needs you know." He smirked.
I stopped dead in my tracks and just looked at him in disgust.
"You are very disrespectful, Boromir. You shouldn't say such things." Legolas said, sticking up for me.
"It was only a joke. Calm down." Boromir laughed.
"This is serious, Boromir. That is why I wished to do this myself. I cannot have people playing around and acting childish on such a quest as this." I said and walked away angrily.
We had then come across a room with a light shining out of it. Gimli began to run toward it shouting.
"Gimli no!" Gandalf and I shouted in unison. We all ran after him as he discovered that this was the tomb of his cousin Balin.
Gandalf read the inscription on the tomb while Gimli wept. Gandalf then began to read from an old journal setting atop the tomb.
"They must have been ambushed, they had no warning. Not enough to ready their troops at least." I stated. Then all of a sudden we heard a loud clanking and banging noise that echoed throughout the whole mine.
"Fool of a Took! Why don't you throw yourself in next time and rid us of your stupidity!" Gandalf scorned. Finally, something that we agreed on.
We then heard what sounded like shuffling footsteps in the distance. Boromir went to investigate and had his head almost taken off by an arrow. I would have been happy at least because he is an asshole. We quickly moved into action and tried to bar the door, once we done this we stood and waited for the goblins to come through the door. They burst through the door and we began to fight them.
