3rd person Annabeth POV
"Magnus Chase and Alex Fierro survived. They are going to be okay. Magnus is asleep but a few of you can come visit Alex."
Annabeth breathed a sigh of relief.
They decided on Calypso and Leo because they had found them, Annabeth because she was a relative of Magnus's, and Samirah because she was Alex's halfsister.
They walked into the room. Alex was laying down in her hospital bed, still holding Magnus's hand. They gathered around Alex.
"Maggie's still warm. That means he's alive, right? He's okay, right? He's going to be okay, right?" Alex seemed to be pleading more than asking.
"Yes. He's going to be just fine." Samirah responded.
"Good." Alex took a deep breath.
"May I ask what happened?" Annabeth asked.
"Not right now. Later." Alex mumbled.
"Okay. Later it is." Annabeth agreed.
They sat in silence for a while and then Alex spoke again. "Maggie and I were walking to the Three Broomsticks to meet up with Sam, Hearth, and Blitz. We took a shortcut down an alley and I remember feeling a sharp pain in my side. I was talking to Magnus and hadn't heard anyone else walking. I collasped and Magnus did too. Whoever it was that stabbed me, the only thing I saw was their Hogwarts robes from behind after they had moved us to the cellar. I managed to sit up and cry for help a few times. Then a girl with caramel hair and a small Latino boy found us. Next thing I know, Sam is there and then I'm in the hospital wing. That's what happened." Alex said slowly, as if thinking over every word, trying to get it just right.
"Is it okay if we go?" Leo asked.
"Yeah. Sam and I will stay here." Annabeth agreed. Calypso and Leo left the room. Annabeth sat with Alex until Magnus woke up. Magnus was pretty out of it as well, but recounted almost the same story as Alex. That night, when Annabeth finally left the hospital wing, she knew that the Nico Protection Squad was right. Whoever the killer was, he or she was targeting the LGBTQ students at Hogwarts.
