To make up for not publishing an update on Thursday, here's an extra long chapter!
December 29
3rd person Percy POV
Yep. Percy may throw the parties at Hogwarts, but he never threw them at his house. In fact, hardly anyone except Grover had ever been to his house for one simple reason. It was too simple.
Percy lived in an apartment, nowhere close to being big enough to throw a fantastic party. Not to mention his mom and step-dad that would never let that happen, especially because of Estelle, his little sister.
This year, Piper was taking the reins. She was throwing an amazing party at home in LA and was even flying everyone in to stay with her until they have to return to Hogwarts on January 8.
"I love you, Percy!" Sally Jackson forced Percy into a hug and kissed his cheek. "Be responsible."
"Of course," Percy responded. He hugged his mom a little harder. "I love you!"
Percy scooped Estelle out Sally's arms and gave her a big bear hug.
"I love you, Estelle! I'll see you this spring!"
Estelle, being too young to speak just stared up at Percy with her wide eyes.
Percy then hugged Paul before boarding the plane. Piper had bought everyone nearby seats together, and Percy was surprised to find out he was sitting with Nico di Angelo and Will Solace.
Great. This is going to be an overload of Solangelo cuteness. Percy thought, remembering fondly the day Piper gave all the couples "ship names".
"I've been rewatching Glee using Leo's secret Hogwarts wifi, and after a lot of Klaine cuteness, I decided we all need ship names!" Piper announced during a meeting of the LGBTQ Protection Squad.
"We have Percabeth, Jiper, Frazel, Caleo, and Willico so far!" Piper smiled.
"Willico?" Nico frowned.
"What about..." Piper stroked her chin dramatically.
"Solangelo!" Will exclaimed.
Nico blushed.
"What?" Will asked.
"Roughly translated, in Italian, that means 'sun angel'." Nico responded.
"Awww! It's perfect! Now kiss!" Piper squealed.
"Um, why?" Nico narrowed his eyes.
"That's what would happen in a romcom." Piper shrugged.
"Hi guys," Percy said.
Nico buried his face in his hands. Percy could barely hear him mutter a "Dammit."
"Hey, Perce!" Will smiled. Percy sat down and Nico averted his eyes towards the window.
"How was Christmas?" Percy asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
Hazel was in the middle aisle and gasped.
"Percy!" She looked taken aback.
Nico continued to look out the window as he said, "Don't worry about Hazel. It's like she was born in the 1940s or something."
Percy noticed something different about Nico. No matter how much he tried to hide it, he looked happier. Not to mention, healthier! His skin had resumed a tan color that Percy vaguely remembered from Nico's first year at Hogwarts. The bags under his eyes were gone and he actually had some fat on him! He no longer looked like a corpse!
