The man Michel sees how hurt Mello is and offers to drive us home in his truck, of course in our condition I accept. Michel picks up Mello’s bike tossing it into the back of his truck then helping Mello and I into the car.

“What happened to y’all?” he asks boosting Mello into the car.

“We were jumped” I reply sitting next to Mello.

“I’m sorry but I never got your names” he states

I point to Mello “this is my fiancé Mello” I almost yell ‘fiancé’.

I point to myself “I’m Laylay”

He starts driving down the road trying to keep conversation

“Where are y’all headed?” he ask

“Do you know Wammy tower? Its that new office building in the middle of the city”

He nods… a little “you mean that man Quillish Wammy? THE Quillish Wammy? The famous inventor?”

I nod “he was my grandfather”

He laughs “WAS is old Quill dead already?”

I nod “he died a long time ago, sometime after my father died”

That seemed to shut him up, I laugh.

Mello smiles still clenches that wash cloth that Michel gave him to stop the bleeding from where Mello was stabbed. Luckily none of Mello’s cuts are too deep.

I clench his hand leaning on his good shoulder; he kisses the top of my head.

“I promise nothing like this will ever happen to you again” I whisper low enough that Michel wouldn’t hear “I’m going to find those men and kill every one of them” a low growl comes from my throat

He nods “count me in” he winks “those bastards aren’t going to get away with hurting that beautiful face”

I blush “thanks babe” I squeeze his hand a little.

“I was of course talking about me!” he mutters.

I punch him lightly in the arm, he laughs “kidding!” he almost squeals like a little girl.

“You’re such an ass even when you’re hurt!” I sarcastically giggle.

I then remember, pulling out his wallet from my pocket I place it in his hand “you might need this”.

He laughs pulling out the picture of him and I as kids he flashes it to me “I miss these days, when everything seemed perfect”

I brush a few pieces of hair away from his eyes “they will be, I was thinking about opening an Orphanage in America for gifted children.”

“Like a second Wammy’s house?”

“Exactly like a second Wammy’s house BUT we call it something else”

Mello thinks “how about we name is after L?”

“Lawliets House?”

Mello nods “it’s gotta ring to it”

I agree.
