(Rains P.O.V)

I peek over my shoulder seeing that Suki is still sound asleep on the couch. I look back at the computer checking the time “it doesn’t feel like five in the morning” I whisper yawning.

Suki’s ear twitches.

I turn my chair around walking over to the couch; I sit on the coffee table staring at Suki’s small, fragile body.

“You’ll be alright; no one can hurt you now. Come morning light you and I’ll be safe and sound”

Suddenly her eyes flash open “they’re here!” she shrieks running into my arms, she places her head against my chest.

“You’re okay Suki” I say “nobody’s here”

“Promise?”

I nod “yes I promise” I hold her close “I promise I’ll never let anyone hurt you”

Suddenly she changes into her cat form and runs off down the hallway

I stand up running after her “where are you going?” I yell.

She meows back.

The hallway lights flash on as I run; I suddenly realize where she’s headed.

The roof.

She runs to the edge of the roof sitting down, she piers over the edge meowing.

Snow glades down, falling all around me.

I walk up letting my steps crush snow as I go; I sit down next to her.

“Listen, Suki I’m sorry-“

“You have nothing to be sorry about” she meows.

“Wait, you can talk in your cat form?”

She laughs “of course”

I sigh “Suki, I don’t know what it is about you. But, I can’t stop thinking about you”

She licks her paw “I wouldn’t stop thinking about a cross breed either”

I shake my head “I don’t even think about you as a cross breed. All I see is Suki”

She starts purring “thank you” she whispers “no one has ever been so kind to me. Not even your father…” her cat face starts to sadden.

I stare down at the cars going by “you love him don’t you?”

She nods “very much”

I stand up “is he the only one?”

Silence.

Suddenly she’s grabbing my arm in her human form again. Naked.

“No” she answers “I love someone else even more”

I take off my long sleeve shirt sliding it over her head; she’s smiling sticking her little tongue out as a single snow flake hits it.

I love her smile, it always makes me smile.

“Who would that be?”

She puts her finger up to her lips “I’ll never tell” she grabs my hand throwing it over her shoulder so that my whole arm is around her. She jumps off the side of the building taking me along with.
