A/N: LEADER LEAD THE WAYYYYY
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Carat!"
Not him again. He was so persistent. I turned around, my hand lightly holding my schoolbag straps. I put on the unamused face just like the previous time he came and called me.
Choi Seungcheol, my senior who had graduated last year, sat on his sleek black motorbike and held out another helmet. It was white, reflecting the bright sunlight. He had been doing this the past few weeks. He knew when my classes ended and would come and try to pick me up (both connotatively and literally.) Just like always, I shook my head.
"Please... I want to send you home. Just this once. I won't bother you anymore. Well, provided you don't want me to anymore," he pleaded.
I shook my head. I was worried I would be in any danger. My parents could get furious if they saw me returning home on a motorbike with a boy. Well, I assumed. Anyways, Seungcheol just got his licence 5 months ago. I doubted his skills.
"Ok. How about I treat you to lunch? Anywhere. It's on me. I really want to prove to you I can drive you safely. Just once. I'll be responsible if anything happens to you," he suggested.
Well, that was new. As if on cue, my stomach growled. It was not loud but I sure felt it. I pondered if I should take up his consideration. I was hungry and I could use this to get free delicious lunch but at the expense of my safety. The longer I thought, the more restless Seungcheol got.
My stomach just kept growling, persuading me to go get some food as soon as possible.
"Fine! I need to eat lunch. I'm only giving you a chance because I'm starving," I gave in and took the helmet from him.
I realised my hair would get ruined if I put the helmet over my head. I hesitated and tried to move my hair and struggled to put on the helmet.
My senior chuckled at me and took the helmet from my hands. He gently swatted my hands from my hair and carelessly put the helmet on my head for me. He focused as he adjusted the straps for me. He was a little too close and his hands brushed against my chin. I mentally slapped myself.
"Don't care about your hair being ruined. It always looks perfect," he said with a grin.
My cheeks turned bright pink. He pat the seat behind him on the motorbike and I got on. As I did, some of my friends and classmates who were leaving school cheered and whistled. I sent them a glare after I got on the vehicle. My hands hovered and moved about. I never thought this through. Must I hold his waist?
Then, the motorbike jerked forward and my hands flew around his waist. He was trying to tease me because of how terrified I probably looked. The motorbike sped off. I held on to him tighter and looked down, squeezing my eyes shut. However, eventually, he slowed down and then moved at a constant speed.
I opened my eyes to see, we were indeed moving at a slower speed as Seungcheol said. I watched as other motorbikes would pass by him on our way to our destination. He could be going that fast but he did not. I had been quiet during the journey.
He stopped in front of a small shop and I got off. He took my helmet off for me and briefly combed through my hair with his fingers. I got caught up in how he focused on making my hair look neat. He then led me into the shop that he mentioned was his personal favourite go-to place to eat when he was alone.
He entered and greeted the owner who was an old man behind the counter.
"Girlfriend?" the man asked.
"Not yet," Seungcheol told him.
I looked at him and he smiled at me. Nuh-uh. No way. We settled down at a table for two and ordered. As we waited, he asked more about me. Well, he was already treating me food so the least I could do was tell him about myself. As we talked, he took off his leather jacket and hung it on the back of his chair. He was pretty buff. No kidding. I had to quickly shift my gaze somewhere else.
We continued to talk over lunch. Turns out, we had more in common than I initially thought. We both hated lemons. Well, more of eating the fruit raw.
After lunch, he suggested we took a walk to let our food digest before he sent him home. Puking on his bike would be embarrassing so I agreed. We walked down the streets but only when we were out in the open that it started to rain. Seungcheol rushed to take his jacket off to cover us but I was quick to pull my umbrella from my bag and open it before he could take off his jacket completely.
"Oh, hehe. Thanks," he laughed softly, flustered.
I was awe-stricken at that moment when I saw the sweet smile and flustered look on his face. It contrasted with his tough look. He took the umbrella from me and held it.
"Ah, the rain's getting on your shoulder," he pointed out, putting an arm around my shoulder and pulling me closer to him.
"You think you're sly. I know your intentions," I remarked, also realising that I almost fell for him.
"No. I think I would make a good boyfriend who always intends to put his lover first," he corrected me.
The cheesiness was too much. Stop. I looked away quickly. We walked towards the nearest shelter. On the way there, we passed by bushes of flowers. Seungcheol stopped in his tracks. He got me to stay still and he ran in the rain towards the flowers, plucking one of them and running back. He handed me a white daisy.
"You killed nature."
"No, I'm matching similar things. The flower is pretty and so are you."
