Jihoon opened the door and almost got the shock of his life.
"Hey Carat- WAh! Whose child is this??" he inquired about the 7-year-old child beside me.
"My sister's. I'm helping her take care of him while she goes for her date night with her husband. It's just for tonight," I informed him.
He had a blank expression on his face. It was almost 5 pm now. Who knows how long he would have to put up with this child?
He nodded and let us in. The boy immediately sped off and went exploring the new house. It was pretty hard enough just to get him here.
"Yah! Hae-woo! Come back and greet Uncle!" I called him back.
He came running back quickly and apologised.
"Hae-woo, meet Uncle Jihoon! Be nice to him, ok?" I told him.
He nodded and greeted Jihoon with a wave and a cute smile. Ah, kids are so adorable! (When they are in a good mood, that is.) Jihoon said an awkward "hi" before the kid went running off again.
"B-be careful! Don't knock down any stuff- Nevermind..." Jihoon sighed and looked at me with a blank expression on his face.
"I'll just go to the studio-" he stepped away but I pulled the back of his T-shirt.
"Nope. You are staying here. You need to practise being around children," I told him sternly.
He turned around and questioned as to why there was even a need.
"We're bound to get married, right? You're going to have to care for a kid eventually," I said to him.
He was silent and his pale face turned a light red. He had trouble maintaining eye contact.
Almost as if to save him from his flustered state, the boy came dashing back out and clung on to Jihoon. He demanded Jihoon play with him despite the millions of excuses Jihoon gave. In the end, after receiving a death glare from me, he gave in. Immediately, the child whisked him away to the land of imagination.
I smiled to myself. I guess I would get time to rest then. I headed to my room-
"AND AUNTIE CARAT WILL BE THE DRAGON!" the boy shouted and I stopped in my tracks.
Welp! Karma's real! Jihoon was now smiling at me and strongly agreeing with the boy. Instead of hesitating, I gave in right away and brought out my inner dragon.
I started chasing them around the place and then they eventually got cornered. The boy then pulled out an imaginary sword and started swinging the "sword" about. Jihoon did so too. I pretended as if I was hit by the swords until eventually, I played dead.
The boy and Jihoon cheered.
"Wait, we need to make sure the dragon is really dead," Jihoon said.
Oh no... I heard some soft whispers. There was a short silence before I was ambushed. It was obvious who was hitting me the whole time. I got up and tried to run away but Jihoon got ahold of me.
"WE MUST THROW THIS DRAGON INTO THE PITS OF HELL WHERE SHE BELONGS!" he cried out, dragging me into the bedroom with the boy right behind him.
This was not how I planned this to go...
