"Lee Jihoon! Wake your ass up!" I screamed from the kitchen.

I was pretty sure my scream shook the walls of the house. Yet, I waited 5 minutes from the moment I shouted to see the bedroom door still closed and the house still silent. I finished setting the food out and headed to our shared bedroom.

There my husband laid on the bed. He was fast asleep. I put my hands on my hips and shook my head. I strode up to the edge of the bed. I took a pillow and slammed it on him 3 times, telling him to wake up.

"5 more minutes..." he spoke, barely audible.

"Yah! It's 11 am! It'll be lunch at this rate," I told him.

"It's ok. Lunch is good too," he raised a thumb up before falling back asleep.

My blood started to boil so I took a deep breath to calm down. I crouched down by the bed at his eye level. I perched my chin at the edge of the bed. I traced patterns on his arm which caused him to stir.

"Jihoon... I put effort into cooking breakfast. I want you to wake up and eat it. Please... You rarely wake up early enough to eat. Is my cooking that bad?" I lowered my volume and spoke to him gently.

His eyes shot open and he lunged forward to hug me.

"No! It's not! Sorry I made you feel that way. I was just too lazy to get up. I'm sorry. I love you. I'LL GET UP RIGHT AWAY!" he shot up and out of bed.

He washed up in record timing and was seated at the table in about 2 minutes. He wasted no time in digging in. He hummed in bliss. Nah... He was probably just trying to make me feel good.

"Ok, I'm going to wake up earlier from now onwards. This is good. Seriously," Jihoon commented.

I sat across him. I tasted my food and it was average.

"Yah, there's no need to exaggerate just to make me feel better. It tastes average to me..." I said to him.

He shook his head and insisted otherwise.

"Any dish made with love is a good dish," he argued.

He continued digging in and I could not help but smile. He really liked it. My heart warmed up. He was sincere. I was further proven so because from that day on and for the months that passed, he woke up much earlier than he usually did just so he could enjoy my breakfast freshly made with love.

"Carat! Wake up! It's 10 am!" he shouted although he was right in front of me.

"5 more minutes..." I yawned before falling back asleep.

"Fine, 5 more minutes as long as you make breakfast," he told me.

Then, exactly 5 minutes later, he woke me up. Due to the fact that I loved him so much, I got up. He really made the effort to wake up early just to be able to eat my cooking. I washed up and trudged out the room.

Weird enough, I smelled breakfast even before I made it. I got to the dining room and I was in for a shock. There were 2 plates of breakfast meals laid nicely on the table. At that moment, Jihoon came out from the kitchen holding 2 coffee mugs. He noticed me and smiled shyly.

He set the drinks down as I took a seat. I eyed the food that was set on the table. My meal consisted of golden brown french toast, fluffy scrambled eggs and bacon that was slightly burnt. I looked back at Jihoon who was anticipating my reaction.

"This looks good!" I commented.

"You haven't tasted it yet," he mentioned.

I prayed in my heart it was as good as it tasted or it would just be awkward for him. I took a bite out of the french toast and it was crispy yet buttery. It definitely kept a smile on my face. I tasted the eggs and they were a little salty. (Kinda like Jihoon himself) Still good though. I stared at the slightly burnt bacon. I tried it and it was not bad for a half-burnt bacon.

"It's good! Did you really make this?" I exclaimed.

"Oh well... I guess you can say I have skills," he said confidently.

"Yeah, skills you probably acquired through Mingyu. Was this what you were doing when you were over at his place for the whole day?" I asked.

He sulked and shrugged with a nod. It was a mixed reaction but it was obvious that I was right. I stood up and went over to his side. I hugged him from behind and kissed him on the cheek.

"Either way, thank you! You went out of your way to learn to cook for me! It's adorable- I mean, that's an amazing thing to do for your wife," I said to him.

He did not like being called adorable. He felt less manly when called so. He turned to me and held my hands.

"No, thank you for always cooking for me. I did this to thank you. Cooking just one meal was kinda hard and to think that you cooked 3 meals a day for the past few months and the next few years to come, I realised how tiring it must be. So, really, thank you," he said to me from the bottom of my heart.

"If it's you, I don't mind cooking every day for you for the rest of my life," I mentioned.

Before I returned to my seat, I stared at him. He sighed with a smile. He stood up and kissed me.

"And I love you so so much," he uttered.

My heart was satisfied. I was so grateful to be married to such a man.
