"Ugh..." She woke up and rubbed her eyes groggily. She sat up and stretched. Never had she had such a good rest in years. She looked at the interior of the spacious room that seemed awfully unfamiliar and instinctively, her self-defence machanism kicked in. She scrambled up to her feet, senses on high alert. Her eyes darted around the sparse room.

Nothing.

Feeling stupid, she fell back down on the plush futon. She noticed an envelope beside her futon and picked it up. Tearing open the envelope, she hastily took the letter out and read it. It was a letter from Mori.

Apparently, Mori had asked her to join the Port Mafia. Again. So that they could help her with her abilities and clarify any doubts. She shuddered, thinking about the events that happened yesterday.

It's also included that the apartment she was staying in now would be hers and that they would help her pay the rent for the time being if she joined the Port Mafia. Clothing would also be provided. If she refused, the apartment would be taken away.

"I never really had a choice in the first place, do I?" (Y/n) muttered. She took a quick shower and changed into her mafia clothing which consists of a collared white button-up shirt, long skinny black pants, a black choker, a black trenchcoat that matched nicely with the outfit and a pair of black low-heel combat boots to boot.

She left the trench coat open as it was too stuffy to button or tie it up. Yet she didn't want to take it off as it was too much of a hassle to hold it.

Spotting a black cell phone which was next to the envelope, she dialled Akutagawa's number which was written in the letter. She used a phone before so this was nothing new.

"Hey, Akutagawa. Come here now, I need to see the boss and I have no fucking idea where I am."

No reply. Beep-

(The hell? At least a hello would be nice.)

Never mind, she'll assume he's coming.

She was right. A few minutes later, Akutagawa came crashing through the door.

"Hey watch it. I have no money to pay for the damages," She growled, before smirking. "And since when have you started listening to orders? I heard that you were quite the independent one."

That question earned herself a kick in the stomach.

"Ow, hey!"

The ride to the headquarters was smooth. No bumpy ride on air all thanks to the blonde woman, whom she found out was named Higuchi, saved her by offering to drive them to the headquarters.

It was the same routine as yesterday. Identify yourself and enter. She stood in front of Mori's table and greeted him.

"So (y/n), I hope you have finally made your decision?" Mori asked lightheartedly.

"Yes, boss. I came here today for that matter. I agree to join the Port Mafia."

"Excellent. I will be pairing you up with one of our best people, Chuya Nakahara. I would like to pair you with Akutagawa-kun but he'll probably leave you behind during the missions."

As if on cue, a redhead stepped into the room.

"You called for me, boss?" Chuya questioned.

"Right on time, Chuya. I would like you to meet (y/n). You will be assisting her on her missions and help her with her ability. You could probably teach her some of your martial arts, I hope?"

"Gladly," Chuya smirked.

Leaving the room after signing a contract, she followed the man who goes by the name of "Chuya", she followed him down to his office. Chuya sighed as he looked at her. "Why the hell do you have to wander in the middle of it all..."

"What do you mean?"

"The Port Mafia have been searching you for years! And now when our boss is planning something big, you just have to waltz into the mafia like nothing happened," Chuya explained, rubbing his temples. "But at least this takes off the burden of everyone. Let's just say, you play a very important role in this plan of Boss."

(Well, I ain't gonna give a shit about this 'plan' of my boss.)
(It is none of my concern anyway.)

Before (y/n) could speak, the door of the office slammed open, startling her and Chuya. Akutagawa sauntered in coolly.

"Well ain't someone moody to- Ow!" (Y/n) rubbed her nose where Akutagawa had punched her.

"He may not seem like it but he's technically your superior so show some respect," Chuya crossed his arms over his chest.

(I'm really gonna kill him one day.)

"New mission from Boss," Akutagawa said.

She and Chuya leaned forward, their interest piqued.

"We will be infiltrating the Armed Detective Agency the following day. The task is to get back Kyouka and while we're at it, the weretiger too."

"Who the hell is Kyouka and what weretiger?" She asked.

"Tch. Him again? So troublesome," Chuya scratched the back of his neck. "You'll see them tomorrow."

"I'll be following you two on this mission," Akutagawa stated flatly, surprising Chuya.

"You sure? You have your own task, don't you?" Chuya asked, wondering why Akutagawa had a sudden interest to join them.

"There's someone I want to see. My task is of no priority."
